Part points + Part AP rate?

I am planning my January winter getaway trip. I know I have enough points for 4 weekday nights, and I just saw they have this annual passholder rate for January. My question is, if I book a Saturday night on AP rate (cash) and use my points for Sunday-Wednesday nights, will they be able to link the two reservations together? Or do I have to check in and check out Sunday?
Anybody know the answer? Thanks in advance.

You would have two different reservation systems here, so they could not be linked. But if you make sure each reservation has the other reservation noted on it AND the reservation is for the exact same room type AND the name is exactly the same on both reservations, you might not have to move. You will have to check out and check back in though. When you initially check in, ask at the desk to see if you are blocked into the same room for both your stays. It can be done, but you have to take a part in making it happen.

The DVC member discount rate is $221.50, the AP rate is $179.00 for a SSR studio in January. I really don't want to move in and out if I don't have to. Oh... do you think MS can book me that night with AP rate?

You can only book the AP discounted room through CRO, not through MS.

No. As Deb & Bill said, there is no way to get those reservations linked together. MS cannot access passholder rates or other discount programs aside from the 25% DVC discount (when available.)

You would definitely have to visit the front desk twice, will probably have two sets of room keys and may have to switch rooms. As long as you have the exact same room class booked, you probably will not have to switch. That means you can't book AKV Standard on cash and AKV Savanna on points, or anything similar.

This arrangement will also impact the Disney Dining Plan if you intend to book it. You cannot get the DDP with a one-night CRO booking. Therefore you would only be able to buy the DDP for the nights you are staying on points. And the credits would only be valid from the day you check into the points room until midnight on the night you check out from the points stay.
