This week I need to figure out our packing list and get whatever we may still need... Anyone have a great packing list??

Do a DIS search for Ultimate Packing List. That's what I use.

Pulling out my "Blissful Moisturizing Socks". That's what mine are called, I just looked at the package. I hadn't thought of those! Thanks, chief!

I think I'll have to get a pair of these this week!! They sound delightful!

Is it okay to decorate our windows if we are staying at a mod? We usually do value so I don't know.

I hope so, I'm bringing stuff!

We always do gingerbread houses, and my DD 7 asked if we could take a kit to disney. I told her we'd better do ours and leave them here...since disney has gingerbread to rule all gingerbread. She didn't get The Lord of the Rings reference. I need to educate her.

Single. Digit. Dancin'.

:cool1::banana::cool1:

We leave a week from Wednesday. Now, we don't get to WDW til Thursday (we're at the Hard Rock Wednesday night, IOA on Thursday, and then check in at AKV that night), but I'm still counting it!

Morning, it's Monday!! Time for my daily (sometimes more) post. One week from today we will be about 2 hours from arriving at WDW!! It's haircut day in our house. Luckily no one has asked for a Mohawk. DS6 usually just asks our friend (our neighbor cuts our hair) to spike the from 'like a dragon' after she cuts it. And DS2 just goes with the flow. Me, no big changes. Just a trim and some color to cover the roots and any Greta that have decided to make an appearance.

So Thanksgiving is over. This weekend we were debating with friends on when its ok to start playing Christmas music and put up the tree. Our friends DH thinks you can't do either till the calendar says December. Me, I say now. What about you guys. Do you have a hard line date? Or as long as the Turkey is put away?

After thanksgiving!

Good morning!

It was rough pulling myself out of bed this morning. It's going to be a long day at work today.

I'm 17 days away. I really want to start packing but I just can't do it without a clearer idea of what the weather might have in store. Instead I just keep buying jackets for all sorts of weather.

I made a "to do" list this weekend of things to do before we leave (buy water, get cash out, call cc, clean car etc). I also finished up my Christmas shopping with the exception of my brother's gift, which has to wait until his verizon account is ready for an upgrade.

The day after we get back from WDW, I have a flight booked to head home (PA) for Christmas. 2.5 weeks off of work. :cloud9: I just hope the next 2 weeks flies by.

I say any time after Thanksgiving is okay. I broke my own rule this year.

I also start listening to Christmas music right around Thanksgiving as well.

Good morning everyone!

I've been MIA for a few days. Super busy with all the last minute wedding stuff.

I can't believe that this time next week I'll be married, and waking up in Disney.

I'm going to go back and read over the last few days activities. I hope everyone's planning is going smoothly. December is only a few days away!

Good morning!!

We are not ready for the music yet, mostly because we think we'd be burnt out on it way before we get to Christmas! Thanksgiving is my cutoff for decorating. I think we're just thrown off this year because it was soooo early.

My plan is to start pulling boxes out this week - our cleaning lady comes today, so I didn't want them to be in the way. We will hopefully finish our decorating by Sunday.

This packing list is great! The kids and I are folding laundry :rotfl: hopefully it will be folded by the end of the morning!! Once I'm done I'm going to start getting all the non essentials packed and then make a checklist to for all the things to pack the morning of.

Sinus update- not looking forward to the plane ride if it doesn't go away. Ok I have a question- I have DD1 (17 months) and DD3. I've been giving them vitamins and feeding them things loaded in nutrients to keep them from getting the sinus infection. Now is there anything safe I can give them in a plane to not make it a painful trip? I am just looking for advice and plan on consulting the pediatrician on Wed when she is in her office...

Can your three year old chew gum? When my kids started crying about their ears, I had gum coming at me in every direction! For the baby, a sippy cup/bottle or pacifier.

That reminds me. I need to buy gum.

Heh heh...my son got his vacation haircut last Wednesday. I go for mine this coming Wednesday.

The girls (my wife and 2 daughters) have decided to forgo theirs....something to do with a little X-mas coloring (TEMPORARY) surprise, I think.

Our rule is: Thanksgiving has to be over.

Within a couple of days after...we deck the halls, inside and out.
This year, the outside was done on Friday (because it was warm!).
Inside was done Saturday.

Here's the problem with Disney in December...no matter how long you wait, you'll likely face some surprises.

We pretty much pack for anything. MOSTLY shorts and tshirts, but a decent selection of long pants and long sleeve shirts, too.

Even if you wait til the day before...you might know which way to more heavily "weight" your packing (more shorts, less pants), but you're probably going to end up needing both, anyway. Orlando weather (especially at night) can offer up some surprises....surprises you won't even hear about til the day of, or the day before maybe, their occurance.

Gum chewing, if possible, for the oldes helps.

Do they still make ear planes? I'm not sure what age they're appropriate for, but that's what I used to wear when I was a kid (prone to ear infections). They really helped.

Lollipops? I do have those. DD3 doesn't chew gum : / I will have a sippy and a bottle (we are transitioning but bringing it just in case)

I need to buy gum too!! :)

What are ear planes?

Are any of you forgoing putting up your Christmas tree this year? We are at Disney for the week if Christmas and we will not be putting up our large tree at all. We have a ceramic tree on the mantle and we'll bring a small one for the hotel room. Our boys are 8 and 6 and they say that they don't mind since we will see so many trees there.

Sort of.

We are not putting up our large tree. Can't do it before hand (because our cat is a climbing risk, while we're gone) and not really jazzed about the idea of putting it up the week before x-mas.

HOWEVER, we have a 4 foot fiber optic tree which, coinicidentally, was purchased during a Disney trip a few years back. Not tall enough for the cat to climb..and easy for us to move (while already decorated) to our finished basement during our trip.

We set that up on Saturday.

That way...the kids have a tree before and after our trip, and we don't have to worry about our cat either ruining our "main" tree...or getting stuck in it (it's pre-lit).

What are ear planes?

http://www.cirrushealthcare.com/faq.aspx

EarPlanes are a patented pressure-regulating earplug inserted in the ear to help reduce discomfort often associated with air travel. They were developed by Cirrus Healthcare Products LLC in conjunction with the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles, and have been tested by US Navy aviators at the Miramar Naval Air Station in San Diego.

Looks like they DO still sell them!

I might ask my wife to grab some for OUR kids. :)
