I think Valgoof has it worse. In 17 days at least I * know* I'm getting on a plane to Disney. Not sure who's coming with or what I'll do when I get there, but I know where and when I'm going.

I also know where I'm staying. Not here: http://i49.tinypic.com/n6x6kj.jpg

Yay You brought back my Sands pic. Let's enjoy this hotel again (from thread #2 and #3) in all its glory.

We should really be nice about this place. It got a good review!

Look at it during it HEYDAY!

FYI for anyone who's interested, AoA is completely booked for Dec 14-21...both in the LM rooms, plus all the suites. I'm starting to get a little worried about the bussing situtation.

I will be in a LM room that first night you state it is completely booked. Maybe they will upgrade me to the Castle... or The Sands!

Hi everyone!

I am 14 days away!!!

We are the ones taking my nieces and nephews along with their mom and my parents. All in total...10 (5 kids). As the nieces and nephews have never been on vacation before we have tried to make the anticipation special. I started emails two months ago. One a week with something of interest. So far I did (as this was to benefit my parents and SIL, too)

- Form or Function: How to Protect my Twinkle Toes in Disney. This was all about how much walking we would do, suggestions for shoes and what to pack for foot care. I know not fun...but I slayed them with my sarcasm.

- Is There a Mule Anywhere? What to Pack for the Parks. Tips on what to bring into the parks with you and ideas for carrying such things.

- Extra Baggage Fees Anyone? This was about what to PACK in your suitcase, what amenities are in our resort room, suggestions to make life easier, etc.

- Roll Me Around The World: Dining is Free but the Extra Wadrobe is Not! This was all about our dining reservations, popular snacks, etc.

- Will Harry Potter Be There? What About Shrek? This was about the Characters. Which ones we WILL see due to character dining, and then all the ones offered they can see. As their kids are older (9, 9, 13) they had very few on the list...Phineas and Ferb, Wreck it Ralph, Mickey and Minnie.

--Sleigh Bells Ring in Florida, Can you Hear Them? Top five Holiday experiences at Disney to put us in the mood. Did a picture and quick caption for MVMCP, Osborne, etc.

So...my questions is...I have two emails left to send. What other topics can I do?

Saving these for future use! :)

Do you have touring plans and stuff? I would probably do something on why plans matter and you can't just wing it.

Maybe something about how it's not just rides - shows, parades, fireworks.

Are you planning to play SOTMK or Phineas & Ferb? That would be interesting to that age group.

Shopping?

What you really need is a ticker that generates random numbers. ;)

So when will you know?

That would be great! :thumbsup2

Monday. DH's boss was out earlier this week and today he is meeting with big wigs about the expansion, so DH will talk to him on Monday and figure out for sure what is going to happen. I dont know if they will make him change his vacation this close, but he thinks they will. He did confirm that someone has his week off, but no one has the week before, so he would be able to switch with no problem.

ETA: just talked to DH. He says his boss wont know on Monday. He will have to talk to corporate and get it figured out. I guess I thought we were further along in the process than we are. :faint:

I can't believe how far back I had to go to find it. :)

No, there are others. Although its pretty extreme. Utah is worse, of course.

In MD we can buy from privately-owned stores but not grocery stores. In VA practically anyone can sell alcohol.

And here in Montgomery County they heavily restrict what can be purchased for distribution (even by bars). So we have to go to DC for anything remotely interesting. But that's just our county.

Last August my brother and I had a cross country road trip and after an all day drive, we stopped somewhere in Arkansas. For the final few hours before then, my brother kept going on and on about how he wanted to get to a hotel and go find a bar.

We check into the hotel and he asks the clerk where the nearest bar is. They informed us it was a "dry county" Oh the look on his face!

I had never heard of a "dry county" before that. It's absolutely crazy!

The beds were adequate for a short stay? Not sure how many of you are familiar with that term... :scared:

They were taking advantage of the new Naughty baskets offered by Disney? :thumbsup2:lmao:

Awesome! Thanks for this! A second showing of Fantasmic has been added for 12/1 & 12/2... yay! :cool1:

It was actually added for 12/1 a while ago. That is what day I'm going and it's on on my calendar that I printed out 3 weeks ago. :confused3

I'm glad I wasn't drinking when you said that.. But yes.. that's exactly how I read that review. :lmao::banana:

Just because I worry about these things, I hope everyone knows what the "snow" really is, right? It's a type of bubbles, almost like dish liquid, so don't try to catch those snowflakes on your tongue, they won't taste very good! :crazy2:

I was reading one of Josh's reviews on easywdw and was reminded of this and to hide my camera lens :scared1: Don't want soap messing up my photos

Thanks for sharing! Now to go check it out for our dates... :moped:

Glad to see an 8pm F! on our DHS day. Other than that, doesn't change much of my plans. Only the possibility that we could see MK till 2 a.m. :woohoo: But we'll play it by ear depending on how exhausted we are at that point :lmao:

Someone help a newbie out with this calendar. We're going to MK on 12/10, which is an evening EMH night. The calendar says park hours are 9 am to 9pm and the 3 hours of EMH. They added a second MSEP at 9 PM. So is 9 pm closing a typo? Is the park really open until 10 pm like it is the Monday before? We're staying on property, but obviously not going to be taking full advantage of EMH with a 4 and 5 year old. I was just wondering if the second parade might be substantially less crowded.

the REGULAR park hours are 9a.m. to 9p.m. then add +3 hours for EMH for those guests who can attend EMH. So if you're staying onsite, essentially MK hours for that day are 9a.m. to 12 a.m. :goodvibes

I think I've read the second parade is usually less crowded than the first.

Up until recently you could not buy alcohol on Sundays in GA but thats been dropped now.

I would be interested to see alcohol-related stats on the States with harsh drinking laws.

Same here. Mass finally smartened up and realized how much income was going to New Hampshire every Sunday. Now the packies are open on Sundays.

And this reminds me... The Winter Largers/Ales will be out soon (if not out already). It's time for my favorite drink. And the name of this will appeal to all those during our "pink cuffs and blindfolds" period, here. It's called a "warm apple pie" (get your laughs out). You get a 16oz beer glass and you fill it 50/50 with Harpoon's Winter Warmer and Magners Hard Apple Cider. You can feel free adjusting the pecentages or using different brands of winter ale or hard cider. But, if you go to a bar, and it has both on tap, give it a try.

JUST A VENT/RANT:furious: I hate this week:furious: Why you may ask well in Wisconsin it is Deer Hunting. This is the first year that DS is going and it is always crazy. Where is this, I can't find that, I need this(words out of DH mouth). I want to yell "You don't left a finger when it is me getting ready for vacation or skiing but you expect me to drop everything to find your stuff. I took off next year and doing a cruise with BFF and her son and myself and DD so we don't have to be around this craziness. OK done ranting and on to reading more on disboards.

Once we went Christmas tree cutting in an area that was also open for deer season. Never again!:scared1:

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Deer season is big down here too. Gun season starts this Sat, though bow season as been for awhile. I was never a hunter, never paid attention to it, but the first Sat of gun season in college, I was out collecting samples for my research project in a stream on a wildlife management area - the gun fire going off sounded like the civil war. I remembered I had a WHITE scrunchie in my hair- :scared: I ripped that out quick!

In AL where I grew up, my county was dry - no legal alchol at all. So everyone knew who made moonshine. The counties that weren't dry you could get beer in stores, but liquor at the ABC store. Then I moved to Louisiana, where you can buy anything, anywhere -even daquiri's in a to-go cup DRIVE THRU barn. I was floored. Then I moved to MS where liquor is in their own stores, beer/malts/winecoolers anywhere but in my city nothing on Sunday. Then we got a ballpark that got "resort status" and we can buy beer on Sundays now from 1-5pm
