PART FOUR!! *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

Arrive Dec 4th at Pop and depart Dec 8th. My 3rd year anniversary of leaving Disney and my 3 y/o's second trip (but first she'll remember).

On a side note, anyone know why the 12/5/12 MEP was cancelled?

My aunt named her Akita/German Shepard Leia. As far as I know the Satanic derivation is "Lucifer". Lucius is the Roman form of it, which early Christians would have considered devilish certainly. ;) Italians often use Lucian, it gets Anglicized into Lucas, or Luke. I guess that would violate my no-naming-children-names-the-general-population-will-misspell-rule though (after a lifetime of my name, I wanted stuff that was easy to spell and pronounce). Though I named my son Samuel, and Disney still insists on spelling it "Samual" for no apparent reason.
You would think Leia would be easy and common!

I was raised on Ian Fleming novels (for some reason my dad thought they'd be great primers for me), and really enjoyed the new James Bond. But Wreck It Ralph really was a fantastic movie, so if I had a choice between the two, I'd say go for Wreck It Ralph ... I may even take DS6 a second time before our trip.

I'm heading to Park City, Utah, tonight to keep my mom company, then the Bay Area, California for another preliminary qualifying test for a job on Monday, then flying home on Thursday, which will give me one week to pack! If nothing else with all this flying I'm hoping I'll be immune to all the plane germs on the way to Orlando in two weeks!

I think we were separated at birth!! Kids names are one of my biggest pet peeves. I had a coworker name her daughter Lia, pronounced Leah. Um why?? That poor girl will be spelling her name for the rest of her life. Another coworker had a son named Ryon. Come on people!!

Good to know you liked both movies! I am not sure I have DH convinced to see Ralph yet. Might need to take my brother. He will do anything as long as I feed him. Lol

Have a good trip and good luck on the test!!

There is a girl on the fb page whose husband worked there. :( I bought a couple boxes of ho-hos this morning.

That stinks. Hopefully someone will purchase some of the business units so some people can keep their jobs. Though I don't know how that all works with the union issues, although it didn't sound like all locations were impacted by the strike

On a side note, I was never able to find the fb page and the link I had never worked...

So back to the topic of snacks and baked goods - did anyone else hear that Hostess is closing down? If you like Twinkies you better shop now

http://www.hostessbrands.com/Closing.aspx

I was just suggesting to DH that we needed to buy DS10 one of everything so that he has a frame of reference. How can Twinkies and HoHos not exist?

Personally, I'm craving a sno-ball.

It's been cancelled ever since they started talking about FLE Grand Opening the next day. Park closes early and Wishes moves up to 6pm which is kind of bizarre.

Best guess is some kind of private, maybe CM, event related to FLE.

Totally sympathize with the hunting craziness. Deer season here started last weekend. I do hunt with Dad, and when I started hunting bought a plastic bin I dumped all my gear in at the end of the season. After THREE YEARS of Dad trying to borrow my stuff because he never could find his, he FINALLY broke down and bought a plastic tub to keep his stuff in, so see, that's proof they ARE trainable :rotfl: (now I won't mention all the upland hunting clothes that are still strung out all over the guest bedroom for LAST year's quail season..........)

That is what we did with our kayaking gear. It is all in one large tote in the garage.

Hi everyone!

I am 14 days away!!!

We are the ones taking my nieces and nephews along with their mom and my parents. All in total...10 (5 kids). As the nieces and nephews have never been on vacation before we have tried to make the anticipation special. I started emails two months ago. One a week with something of interest. So far I did (as this was to benefit my parents and SIL, too)

- Form or Function: How to Protect my Twinkle Toes in Disney. This was all about how much walking we would do, suggestions for shoes and what to pack for foot care. I know not fun...but I slayed them with my sarcasm.

- Is There a Mule Anywhere? What to Pack for the Parks. Tips on what to bring into the parks with you and ideas for carrying such things.

- Extra Baggage Fees Anyone? This was about what to PACK in your suitcase, what amenities are in our resort room, suggestions to make life easier, etc.

- Roll Me Around The World: Dining is Free but the Extra Wadrobe is Not! This was all about our dining reservations, popular snacks, etc.

- Will Harry Potter Be There? What About Shrek? This was about the Characters. Which ones we WILL see due to character dining, and then all the ones offered they can see. As their kids are older (9, 9, 13) they had very few on the list...Phineas and Ferb, Wreck it Ralph, Mickey and Minnie.

--Sleigh Bells Ring in Florida, Can you Hear Them? Top five Holiday experiences at Disney to put us in the mood. Did a picture and quick caption for MVMCP, Osborne, etc.

So...my questions is...I have two emails left to send. What other topics can I do?

Not sure if you've already had this answer, as I'm behind. How about shopping experiences, your top 5 or 10 souvenirs, etc.?
Maybe the other could be on Disney transportation, and some fun facts about each mode?

Urg. Not happy. They changed MK's hours to opening at 8 on 12/9, so there goes my pre-park opening BBB appointment. My appt.'s at 8:10. Will I be late if we watch the opening show? Should we still attempt to get in early?

I was also hoping they would add a Fantasmic! show on the 13th, but it's still just the 6:30 show. Could they still add one, or should I give up hope?

Haircut picture as promised!

This will be our first MVMCP and I can't wait! They had me at snow on Main Street! We did MNSSHP last year and had a blast. We did a few character meets - mainly the villians who are not normally out - but the party atmosphere was just fun. I think MVMCP will be the same - even if it sells out.

So, I woke up at 5:00 am wondering if I should have booked Royal rooms at POR. Don't know why I'm suddenly waffling. Any of you ever stay at CSR and POR who can compare the two?

It will be our first MVMCP too! I'm with you - they had me at snow on Main Street! We don't see a lot of snow in Alabama! In fact, this will be the first time to see WDW all decked out in Christmas lights!! I am just going to go with the flow, soak it all in, and have the time of my life!! I may be 50, but I'm still a kid a heart!!

This will be our first family trip! I cannot wait! We arrive Dec8th staying in a 2 bedroom villa at VWL! It will be me, DH,DS4,DS5,mom, dad, sister. I've done so much research I think I'm ready! I cry whenever I watch clips of the decorations! Cannot wait!!!!:rotfl:

Have a GREAT time!!!! I get all emotional looking at the clips too! Just think how it will be when we see it in person!!!

On the WDW wedsite hours it has 9am as opening and not EMH that day.

I wonder if I can add a wishing coin to my "floral" order....

I'm so happy this week is almost over.. I feel like it's been dragging on forever...

Eta - no I can't add a wishing coin.. sigh.. They don't sell them separate. Only in certain packages.

So back to the topic of snacks and baked goods - did anyone else hear that Hostess is closing down? If you like Twinkies you better shop now

http://www.hostessbrands.com/Closing.aspx

Heard it today. It affected one of the sweet ladies on the December Facebook group for Disney. She posted yesterday asking for prayers and pixie dust and then posted today that as of tomorrow, her husband will be unemployed. She says they may have to cancel their trip. I'm sure she would appreciate prayers. So very sad.

So with the new hours- it looks like my CP ADR is no longer a pre park opening ADR... If MK opens at 8 and my ADR is at 8:05 I wonder when we should try and get in....

When I saw that I thought of them too. So sad - hopefully he finds work soon!

I'm confused with this. For example on Dec 3rd WDW hours have MK open 9-8 with EMH 8-11 now on the above link it has MK from 9-10 and bottome evening EMH. Where are link hours coming from. I might be looking at everything wrong and please correct me if I am because I want to make sure I have the hours right too. Thanks

These are the updated hours that just came out today. The link is to the correct hours.
