FYI - if you take it to a good repair shop, they will work with the adjuster on your behalf to do it right. And the payment will go directly to them so you're not in the middle. I would find a good auto body shop before working with the insurance. that's what we did when our almost new Lexus go hit. We found a high-end body shop and they took care of it.

I live in the middle of nowhere - VW is going to be the most repuatable place to take it... It's sitting there right now - just waiting for the adjuster!

LOVE the invites - they are TOOO cute!

As for the car, well, I've dealt with a LOT of car insurance claims (none of which have been from accidents I've caused - the car Gods just don't like me for some reason). What is likely to happen is this: with it being that young it's highly doubtful they'll total it. Which means the adjustor will probably give you the option of the company writing you a check for what they think the repairs should cost, or you should be able to just send the car to one of the insurance company's approved repair shops (which most likely includes the body shop at the dealer you bought the car from) and they'll take care of dealing with the shop and paying them directly. You MIGHT be able to get the repairs done cheaper and pocket some cash if you go with the insurance company writing you a check, but with the car being that new, I wouldn't mess with that. It's a hassle and who knows if the cheap repair person you find will actually do things "right". Whether the insurance company will pay for a rental depends on whether that option is included on your insurance policy (if you pull your policy up online it should tell you). If they don't, then once the car is at the body shop I'd ask them about a loaner or if they have and deals worked out with a local car rental place.

Just FYI - you do not have to go to one of their approved ones. You always have the choice to go elsewhere and they just have to suck it up. Sometimes going with their guy can be convenient but you don't always know if you can trust the work. I totally agree with not trying to go cheap on a new car though. It's amazing how much a repair that looks fine to you and me, but isn't "like new" can affect resale value. BTDT. You want someone who can guarantee the repair to be like new.

And when it's really mad it spreads its wings (geese can get pretty big) and runs at you hissing. It's really freaking scary!

We have a pond in our neighborhood and they nest in our yard. They would nest by our front door if we let them. We do not feed the geese. ;-)

One of my earliest memories is being in a local park and feeding some ducks and geese at their pond. When we ran out of bread we started walking back to our car and the 4 geese followed us and attacked my parents, me and my little sisters, who were only 1 and 4 at the time! They continued attacking the car after we all got in, and thankfully a park ranger came over and scared them off so we could leave. :scared1:

So I have beeen trying to figure out where to see Santa Goffy since he isnt at AK this year and I have only read reports at HS Osbonre lights soetimes does anyone know of somewhere els. We are goin at the beg of the month 6-15.

We want to take it to the dealer. It's brand new and I hear VW's can be tricky. I hope that they are an authorized repair center. DH was going to speak to them today about that and the rental. Another reason we want to stick with the dealer - the service manager is a part time employee of my DH and it would be comforting to have someone keeping an eye on it too...

That's definitely good. To have someone you trust!

I'd price out what the ADRs you want to keep will end up costing out of pocket if you drop the plan. You might end up ahead KEEPING the regular plan depending on how much you're going to end up spending for the ADRs you keep.

I agree with this. I think you should price all your options out - if you go with less expensive meals are you losing money with the DDP upgrade as well... Also what is included in the QS plan? Is it one or 2 QS meals?

Okay, I need opinions. I'm thinking about adding a second MVMCP to my trip. :santa: I really want to be able to see all of the characters, the parade and the fireworks, and I know that's pretty much impossible with only one party to go to. I'm thinking of adding it to my first day. I wouldn't be able to enjoy the entire party, since I have a CRT ADR at 6:55pm that I AM NOT cancelling, but I'll still be able to do some characters after dinner and every one I get done is one less that I have to worry about on Sunday night.

Any opinions?

Super Cute. I love the CM one. I've been on an invitation-making tear. Maybe I'll post them later.

So shaking my head. People constantly amaze me with their lack of courage. Unfortunately I know a lot of people with horrible lay off stories lately. Poor Dsis got fired last year from a bank after some money went missing. They agreed it was probably the teller (she was the manager) but fired her and the branch manager anyway for good measure ($200 was missing from a branch that handles half the LA Laker accounts--so a tiny amount compared to what goes through their hands every day). Then a few weeks later the branch manager got a text from one of the employees saying, "I wanted you fired so I could try for your job and told HR a bunch of lies. Ha Ha." People really amaze me.

I hope she forwarded the txt back to HR. Bad enough the person was evil, no way he/she should profit from being stupid too. ;-)

Feeding the ducks is so much fun.... :) We have had a hungry duck or two make in into our Villas at OKW when on the bottom floor hehe... I guess they know where to go to get eats!

You get 2 QS meals and one snack per night that you are staying there.

I also agree with this. We didn't add a dining plan at first. But I looked at the menus and figured about what we would spend at each place we wanted to eat at. By the time I was done, we were able to justify a DxDP.

I'm eating very well on this trip.

I just realized I won't be seeing CELEBRATE THE MAGIC because the only night we are there will be for MVMCP. Bummer. I don't think I can squeeze MK in another night. sob sob

Doesnt it show before Holiday Wishes?? I havent read anything about the new show, but I thought the old one was shown on party nights.

Thanks again for the advice and warm fuzzies. Someday soon I hope to only come on here and talk about Disney. :cool1: I will let you know what I end up doing. I agree that it probably isnt cost effective to pay the change fee and pay for 1 or 2 ADRs. I think I will play with the menus a bit and see what the tips will be. I wont make any changes until I know for sure which week we are going. I hadnt ordered pp+ yet, so I wont do that, which I was on the fence about anyway. DH said to cancel the rental car, so that is a couple hundred saved and I get to ride ME. :goodvibes. Stay tuned for the next installment of "As the Mouse Turns" or "All My Changes".

 So you are buckling down in some areas... Also see what the difference in tips would be too --- If you adjust down for a few ADR's the difference might not be as much as you anticipated in the grand scheme of things..

I once got fired because my boss didn't like me, so she lied to her boss that I was lying on my time card (we didn't clock in and out, we wrote our times down ourselves) so I'd be fired. I emailed my boss's boss two weeks later with full copies of all of my time cards and proof that I was there, and got a reply back basically saying sorry you were accused of lying but we already filled your position. I didn't want the position back, I just wanted to make sure they wouldn't tell potential new employers that I lied on my time cards, which she thankfully promised to tell the truth (and did!). I'll never understand some people.

Ugh! People suck. Who are these people? And what is wrong with them? I so can't imagine doing that to someone, for any reason, even if I hated them.

I hope she forwarded the txt back to HR. Bad enough the person was evil, no way he/she should profit from being stupid too. ;-)

Unfortunately, he sent it to my sister's old boss and she has MS and just wanted to move on with her life. Her health couldn't take the stress. And HR agreed to not give a reason my sister no longer worked there to prospective employers (because even they knew she hadn't taken it) so my sister just wanted to put it behind her too. It's just so frustrating to see it happen to my sister who I KNOW didn't take it. Aside from she'd never do that and she handled huge cash transactions all the time, she'd worked there 10 years and was very happy with the bonus she'd just gotten the week before it happened.

I think if you just list out the costs for each way for the husband, it will end up making sense not to change it anyway, even if you have to do puppy dog eyes at him. :rotfl:

Yeah it isn't "totaled" that we can tell - unless the frame is bent. God I hope not we have 0% interest on it!! So found out the deductible is lower ($100 yay!!) and insurance company will most likely work with VW even if it means working out a price on thier end (so far so good) car rental = pain. having trouble finding a cheap car to rent - ins company will pay $20 a day for up to 30 days. Cheapest so far is 25 a day - but not available until thursday or friday. We just want a little car that will get 30 mpg because my husband commutes 100 miles a day (and surprisingly our VW gets 34-37 mpg) so a bigger car is out of the question.... All in all annoying, not terrible and in the grand scheme of things it could always be worse!

I can honestly say I can not wait for vacation. :) Yeah and Verizon is 3 hours late with calling me back about my darn phone... Going to go run 6 miles - get out some frustration!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that the frame isn't bent! That's what totaled my old Jeep Grand Cherokee. And that one was a mess - I'd been rear ended and the other driver's insurance company strung me along so bad I finally had to call a friend of mine who is a lawyer to deal with them. I am surprised the insurance company wouldn't just set the rental up for you. Normally they have special rate agreements with certain rental companies.

I don't understand people. It's sad that there are so many out there like that. Hopefully they better themselves and if not, ehh karma materializes itself in a variety of ways!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: ETA: laughter is for the names of the soap opera, not the situation.

In my saga hubby decided it was too much to try to take MIL this trip, Christmas week, late in the game. Instead, shes going to stay with us a few days before, house sit our house (yeah!) and then stay with us a few days after we get back. We will have a big ole Christmas dinner with her on the 23rd, and swap family gifts. That is AWESOME b/c now I dont have to pay to board three dogs and a hamster, or airport parking. :yay:
