I would go with POP for the 2 day oop and the free dining for the rest. This way you get the freedom of eating where and when you want for the first couple of days like you liked on your last trip. I would say make whatever ADRs you can get and then just keep checking now until the day of your trip for changes. We all know how fun stalking ADRs is. :lmao:[/QUOTE]

Me too, but I'm a cheapskate! I've just booked some ADR's, people cancel all the time you just need to check and recheck.

The bright side, not as many people? And cheaper airfare, thats a plus! :woohoo: It really in how you look at it, right?

I would hate to have to wait until November. :scared1:

Odd.

Well, if the budget is ok for you, of course I would choose POR because thats where I chose for this trip :goodvibes Plus, as an added bonus for you I'll be there HAAAAAA!

But POP seems like the practical choice .... but practical isn't always the way to go :p

Sigh. You people and your practical answers. :rotfl2: DH would not enjoy a split stay. I know that. So realistically it is POR at full price or Pop with some FD. I always come back to Pop, but every time something else comes up I think about switching. It must be that shiny object syndrome. I already told DH that we couldnt get FD if we switched, so he will accept whatever I tell him at this point. By the time I can decide, something else might change anyway. But AKL for 2 nights would be really cool. LOL

*waits in anticipation*

Valgoof must be on the phone to Disney, probably on hold ..... whilst I'm waiting here all I can hear in my head is *to the tune of Bad Boys* Valgoof Valgoof, whats she gonna do, whats she gonna do when she does get through ... :rotfl:

Ooh you're back - we were posting at the same time.

Ok, pros:

POP - you get FD

POR - I'm there :teeth:

You guys always post about the weather where you are, I enjoy reading about the variations in other parts of the country. One of these day's I would like to do a car trip and see the US.

I'm sure everyone knows how the weather is in Southern Cal, pretty uneventful, most of the time. Maybe a little windy, or a sprinkle or two. Or HOT!

Took my DS12, to see Wreak it Ralph! LOVED it! Now I've been checking out the stuff on the Disney Store website. The plush dolls are super cute, the cars are cute too! I want them all! Unfortunately DS12 is more interested in an itouch for Christmas. I hate this growing up thing!

Happy Veterans Day everyone. Hope everyone has a beautiful Sunday. :tink:pixiedust:

Aieee!!When I got up it was eight-
degrees, not o'clock!! :scared1:

It's 72 and sunny here in the Lou today! I have to get to church too.....just going to finish this thread......:cool2:
You'd better get to church after posting such a mean thing! :rotfl:

Drag us please!!

I need a distraction. Last night I picked DH up after he ran over a deer someone had just hit.... I got to drive 45 miles on a deer infested highway at midnight after being up since 3:45am... I am exhausted. New car has a broken radiator and bottom plastic thing ripped off... Thankfully we have full coverage... And a $250 deductible....

I'm still grumpy though :(
Oh, that's terrible. We have a neighborhood herd here, too. That's the "Bambi's daddy" I sometimes mention- he's the four-point buck (8-point to you Easterners :)) that often hangs out in my backyard. One of the babies got trapped in with some dogs across the street the other day, I distracted the doggies with treats but had to call the police and the game warden to put the fawn down. It was very sad. :(
But Bambi's daddy and the ladies are nowhere to be seen on this frigid morning. They're up in the woods somewhere, keeping warm!

OT Friday I had carpet cleaners coming. So I got up an hour early to pick everything up off the carpets. Ugh. The clutter is killing me. I used to be really dedicated to FlyLady but then a couple years ago my commitments just got overwhelming and I fell off. Now Im doing much better in the over-commitment area but its still taking time to discharge some obligations. In the mean time Im totally drowning in clutter. The worst example when I cleaned a pile out from under the desk in the library and found stuff from our last Disney trip in Oct 2011.

So I know I really don't have time in the next 3 weeks to tackle the problem but I had to do something. Unfortunately most of the clutter right now is for things that need to go to charity or things that don't have a home ( or that home is an even worse disaster). So I spent most of yesterday starting a charity pickup and rearranging some of the kitchen stuff. Then I did Project Life catchup; I want to be caught up by the time we leave.

So yesterday was productive but I didn't work on any Disney stuff. And of course today I have regular chores, bills, helping DS with a book report. So now I'm down to 3 weeks left with a large list left to do and having a bit of a freak out.

In related news - DH talked to his Dad on Thurs. and he basically said he was disappointed with the pace of his recovery. Still hoping for Plan A but right now I'm focusing on B.
Wow, that sounds just like me. I quit working only to be overwhelmed with volunteer work. I'm vaguely familiar with Fly Lady but I would highly recommend a book by Sandra Felton called "Living Organized." (She's a retired math teacher and very logical) It saved me. In particular, she talks about the 3-box method of clutter clean up- start at the door with three boxes- one for give away, one for throw away and one for things that belong somewhere else. Then go clockwise around the room and go through every drawer, cupboard and basket. It works! And her book is full of other tips, too.

.....
So I could be fine with any of the options, just frustrated to have to wait to make any necessary changes. You can chime in whether you would do plan B or C if I end up needing to make that choice.
Plan B- I would jump at the chance to be there with smaller crowds. I wouldn't even feel like it was a plan B- maybe plan A+!

I'm days behind on posts but lmao! I just had to immediately post and thank you for the laugh. I can just imagine cute elderly couple driving; the wife with binoculars to her face! Lol so cute!
Oh, they are cute! And they do everything together, they have been married for 60 years.

Now I really wish I had gotten the matching hot pink sneakers. Lol. I dont know why POR wasnt on my radar earlier. I looked at POFQ, but the food court was just scary. Those masks! :scared1: :lmao: I think it was the size and multiple bus stops, but we will have a car. And it has a regular food court, that was why I didnt choose CSR. And the boat to DTD would be fun. Yes, I have spent my morning on the port orleans thread. :confused3 Now I kinda hope we change weeks. If I wait until November, can you imagine how many resort changes I will make?? :rotfl2:

/
Morning everyone! Wow, I'm a few days behind and I missed a bunch!

Tltorrez - GIMP does have masks. I guess I need to learn how to use them.

SAT887 - that sucks. I've never hit a deer but I know quite a few who have. I'm happy DH isn't hurt and the car isn't that bad.

Valgoof - I'd say do what ever makes you happy - If it was me that would mean Plan B and Plan C!!!! :thumbsup2 If I had a trip planned and to postpone it for a year I would be so unhappy!!

The Mickey popcorn bucket - I'm not big on popcorn and I want one!!

I went to the Disney Store outlet that is closer to NYC yesterday and it was horrible. They didn't have much in the sale areas and everything else was just stuff I could normally get at the Disney Store. I was really hoping to find a 2012 Duffy bear that I didn't order online. The outlet store at Woodbury Commons had a ton of Park Authentic stuff when I was there last.

I did go to Target. I got glow stick bracelets. 15 in the tube for $1. I bought 2 tubes so I can share them with some not so happy kids. Picked up a few other small things.

I asked DBF to get me a glue stick the other day (for gluing the Mousekeeping envelopes), when he was on the way home from lunch. He stopped at the store and brought home glue sticks. The kind for my glue gun.. :rotfl: Including a pack of glitter glue sticks. Not sure what I'm going to do with those but they are so pretty! I finally got the Elmer's glue stick I wanted last night.. He was so cute though. He was all proud of himself for getting both regular and glitter glue sticks..

Friday night as I was getting off the bus after work, I tripped over the lip of a concrete slab in the street. Klutzy me fell hard. I have a few bruises but my left shoulder hurts so bad. When I use that arm I start to feel nauseous and dizzy. I'm contemplating taking myself to an Urgent Care. I'm scared of two things: 1. That I did fracture or hurt something bad and it will mess up our trip. or 2. I'm just the biggest baby ever and I'm making more of it than it is. But it HURTS!!!!

Today is the lazy day. Planning for football, laundry and ordering in dinner.

If it hurts enough to make you sick when you use that arm, it needs to be looked at. That kind of reaction isn't something you can control- In other words you're not being a baby!!

Look at it this way- if it is something bad, it won't get fixed on its own, and if it isn't then you'll know. :) And they can give you some medicine to make you a little more comfortable until you heal up.

Valgoof plan a or b both sound great. We go to dlr all the time and it's so nice sometimes just to wander with no plans, eating when we want, not even knowing what time it is. And I definitely agree you could leverage the loss of adr's for another trip. :scratchin. Also, we'll be at aoa 1-11 too.

I found this on real coffee in the world:
http://allears.net/din/coffee.htm

Does anyone know what brand the coffee pods are? We're in an aoa suite.

It's kinda funny... Almost like this was meant to happen to Valgoof--- :) with all the changes prior and debates... Now- down to the wire and the changes are back in full force!

So went to get a police report and state police barracks were closed... Bah!!

Lol on the glue sticks.

Agree with Queen. Get your arm checked out!!

PA: I agree. I am a klutz too and really really bad bruised my knee one time. It could just be a bad bruise, but IMHO it's a good idea to have it looked at and It will help ensure it's under control for your trip.

Part of me wanted to but I wanted enough room to sleep the whole group and with DVC points can really dictate your options ;)

Is anyone else really disappointed that Belle isn't meeting in her Christmas dress this year? :sad2:

I'm just happy to meet Belle. She's my fav princess from my fav movie. My big disappointment is that I thought one of the rooms at BOG was going to be the library, but it ended up being the Rose Gallery which doesn't even exist in the movie. At least not in that manifestation. I'm also quite looking forward to Enchanted Tales, which is what I intend to do while the family rides BTMRR and SM until they can't walk straight.

But I don't get to WDW often, so my disappointment threshold is set pretty high!

We're booked in the Royal Guest Rooms which are new and themed so it was not to change .... my DD and my Mum are so excited about the rooms.

So, whatcha doing Valgoof?????
