It is generally recommended that you line up for Fantasmic 60-90 minutes before the show. And that's on a normal day. You should allow at least 90 as you get closer to Christmas and crowds go up.

Is it possible that you'll catch a break and be able to slip in at the back 30 minutes or less before the show? Possible. It does happen but I wouldn't count on it. Most shows do fill up completely. And when it's crowded, it's not uncommon to be in line for the early show and not get in until the late one. And for people in the late show to not get in at all.

We're going the first week of Dec and we'll be in line at least 60 minutes before showtime. If I were going on the 18th, I'd make it 90.

Hmm... not worth it to me. I've seen it several times and just wondered if it would be reasonable trying to get over there in time. Among other things, I would have to get the ECV out again for a wait like that, but mostly am not patient enough. Although, now that I'm thinking about it, there is another line for ECVs but, still, too much hassle. We'll just grab some hot drinks and enjoy the Osborne lights.

Surely some company will buy Twinkies! This cannot be the end!!!

This is what I am hoping - its an American Institution as far as I'm concerned. You can ask anyone in the UK to name an American food and they will all say "TWINKIES!!" One of our December FB friends (is she on here, I get so confused between usernames & FB names :rotfl:) has been greatly affected by this - her husband was laid off - so I hope another company buys it and re-employs him first :thumbsup2

Didn't this happen back in 2004 or something :confused3

A company won't buy Hostess, they're liquidating. They will probably buy Twinkies, the name and product, to sell. They filed for bankruptcy in 2004 but reorganized and did not liquidate.

We just decided to extend our trip by going down a day early. I used my mom's Wyndham points to book a free night before we switch over to POP. Our dates are now Dec. 7 - Dec. 12.

First time staying on site. First time for WDW at the holidays. First time park hopping. First time pin trading.

Our tentative plan is:
7th - driving and getting settled in
8th - DTD, souvenir shopping
9th - Epcot and Hollywood Studios
10th - Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom
11th - Resorts, dinner at Boma, watching Holiday Wishes from the Poly Beach
..........unless we decide to splurge and do MVMCP this night.
12th - Heading home and possibly stopping at the Theme Park Connection on the way out.

I'm a bit nervous about getting everything in that we want to see and do, but I'm trying to be realistic. We are trying to prioritize things special for the holidays, things new since our last trip, and then our favorites.

So excited! 21 days!

I have two questions for my esteemed fellow travelers-

1. Any recommendations regarding a good, cute sport sandal or mesh shoe (e.g. something that can get wet) for touring that is not a Keen? Keens are too wide for me.

Thanks!

I have Merrells that I really like. Cute, comfy and dry really fast. Not these but they are similar. I got mine at REI

We stock up on Yingling (sp)? When we're back at dh's hometown in Ohio. Can't get it here in MO!

DH loves Yingling and always stocks up on it when we travel because they don't sell it here either.

It will be our first MVMCP too! I'm with you - they had me at snow on Main Street! We don't see a lot of snow in Alabama! In fact, this will be the first time to see WDW all decked out in Christmas lights!! I am just going to go with the flow, soak it all in, and have the time of my life!! I may be 50, but I'm still a kid a heart!!

I'm as excited about this trip as a kid....seriously giddy!:yay: And, I bet you get less snow in Alabama than we do in Arkansas.

Morning Disney friends!

We're 14 days from today!

Today I'm buying our Thanksgiving groceries... I don't want to be within 10 feet of a grocery store this next week... :thumbsup2

Anyone else looking forward to the Black Friday ads in the newspaper? I love, love, love browsing through them while the turkey is cooking... I know they're all online by now, but it's not the same...

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

:lovestruc

gina

I dot go out on black Friday but I love to look at the ads. That's my thanksgiving morning routine...cinnamon roll, coffee, parades, and newspaper

If my adrs are at 10 am what time should I be at bus stop? 8:45???? I'm scared of the buses!!!! Never done them before and I'm stressing out hoping I'm not late! I'm glad I don't have super early adrs!

My hubby likes yuengling too. And the only reason I know how to spell it is because it's brewed in Pottsville PA which is less than an hour from here.

Arrive Dec 4th at Pop and depart Dec 8th. My 3rd year anniversary of leaving Disney and my 3 y/o's second trip (but first she'll remember).

On a side note, anyone know why the 12/5/12 MEP was cancelled?

Welcome. I think because of a press event for FLE

I have an old crowd calendar incorporated in my spreadsheet, i guess....bc I have Epcot as not so good for those 2 days.

Hmm...so did the first one I looked at, but I got the green day info from easywdw and touringplans.

UT has it red both of those days...

I don't know what to do!!! HELP!! :sad2:

It's been cancelled ever since they started talking about FLE Grand Opening the next day. Park closes early and Wishes moves up to 6pm which is kind of bizarre.

Best guess is some kind of private, maybe CM, event related to FLE.

Is the thought still that FLE will be closed during the 12/6 MVMCP?? We had breathed a sigh of relief after the first MVMCP, but this makes me suspicious again that it won't be open that night...

My aunt named her Akita/German Shepard Leia. As far as I know the Satanic derivation is "Lucifer". Lucius is the Roman form of it, which early Christians would have considered devilish certainly. ;) Italians often use Lucian, it gets Anglicized into Lucas, or Luke. I guess that would violate my no-naming-children-names-the-general-population-will-misspell-rule though (after a lifetime of my name, I wanted stuff that was easy to spell and pronounce). Though I named my son Samuel, and Disney still insists on spelling it "Samual" for no apparent reason.
You would think Leia would be easy and common!

That's pretty cute! Just hope you don't have any cats because your birds and bunnies sound delicious!

I was raised on Ian Fleming novels (for some reason my dad thought they'd be great primers for me), and really enjoyed the new James Bond. But Wreck It Ralph really was a fantastic movie, so if I had a choice between the two, I'd say go for Wreck It Ralph ... I may even take DS6 a second time before our trip.

That does look wonderful! One of my favorite things to make before the holidays is pumpkin rolls, not in small part because I can make it a week before, then freeze, then just serve when the holiday rolls around. And they are delicious!

A few people pointed out that Utah is also terrible. It is such a strange frame of mind when you go from a state that has very few liquor laws, to one that is heavily restricted. I still remember moving from Hawaii to Michigan and them telling me I couldn't buy liquor on my midnight grocery shopping runs because they couldn't sell it after 10p. Here you only have to stop serving at 2a ...

Lol I'm not familiar with the deer hunting craze, but I love it that other people's DH's expect them to find stuff, too ... seriously, our men just can't find anything, even if its exactly where they left it ...:rotfl:

Yep, we're all very glad we're not staying at the Sands! :thumbsup2

I'm heading to Park City, Utah, tonight to keep my mom company, then the Bay Area, California for another preliminary qualifying test for a job on Monday, then flying home on Thursday, which will give me one week to pack! If nothing else with all this flying I'm hoping I'll be immune to all the plane germs on the way to Orlando in two weeks!

I love your sons name, Samuel, great name! Do you call him Samuel or do you shorten it to Sam?

On men not finding their belongings, I remember Roseanne Barr once asking, "Why is my husband always asking me where his stuff is? Like a uterus is a tracking device!". Always thought that was true/funny. :rotfl2:

No news on the job yet? I hope all works out wonderfully for you and your family. ::yes::

Gaah. Now I need to decide what to do with my MK AM ADRs. I have an 8:05 CTR and a 8:10 at CP. Is it worth missing the first hour or so of touring times for these ADRs. I'm thinking I'll keep the CRT for sure...now just torn about CP.
I'd try to see if you could move the CP one back an hour or two instead of losing it and having another credit to use ... enjoy an hour or two of rides, grab a FP, then go enjoy your breakfast.

We call him Sam, but he decided he wants to be called Samuel at school. :confused3 And my in-laws are Mexican so when they say it, it sounds like "Sam-well" even though their first language (and that of their grandparents) is English.

Didn't get the last position I interviewed for. :sad1: Have some more coming up, as well as a back-up plan since my old boss let me know that they're applying for funding to add a position to the local community college library that they want me for. Thanks for the positive thoughts.
