Parksavers... what's the catch??

I've been considering getting our tickets for Nov. from Parksavers. We're planning to get AP's again once we're down there and my only concern was if there was some reason PS tix weren't upgradeable. Do you happen to know for sure that they are?
I haven't heard or read anywhere that they wouldn't be; just assume with my luck that would be the downside to saving some $$ by using them. That's usually how my luck goes!
There is another thread about parksavers and a few people on that thread have upgraded to APs

I specifically asked that in an e-mail as our plan is to upgrade to an AP & the answer was yes.

yes they can be upgraded! once they are linked in your mde account they show as 7 day hoppers! easy peasy

So it sounds like Parksavers tickets are definitely linkable, and it sounds like there are few issues with doing so. However, I was wondering if anyone can clarify the whole process for me. As in, if I buy my tickets from them then link them to MDE, do I still need to activate physical tickets at GS or anything? We have several MB so we can easily just use those. If that is enough.

You just link them to the person you bought them for, don't have to go to GS, they are active as soon as you link them. The only reason to go to GS is if you want to upgrade to AP.

We bought 2 tickwts from Parksavers just last week and with in 2 days we got the email and I put my confirmation numbers in to MDE and I had no problems at all. This week we are buying 2 more and adding them to my MDE and I don't see a problem as well. they are very quick and nice

Went last week using tix I bought in February from parksavers. Will be buying from them again next year!

FYI...from what I can see, tickets purchased here do have an expiration date associated with them.

I've purchased tickets from both Undercover Tourist and Parksavers. My older ds (turning 24 in just days) cannot take the time to visit the parks as he did as a kid. In fact dd and I purchased 7-day park hopper/water park tickets for this week, because we couldn't decide if we wanted to get another round of PAPs. (The price of PAPs is really bugging me; and, now that are youngest is almost 14, we're finding that we enjoy traveling to places other than WDW again!) We've already looked into upgrading our 7-day passes to PAPs before the end of the week in case we should decide to do so. Still sitting on the fence at this point.

The only thing I do not like about buying discounted tickets from either of these sites is the wait. For most people, this would not be a problem at all. However, most of our trips are planned a week or two ahead of time. Having to wait 5 days (2 days for the payment receipt and 3 days to get the ticket numbers) to start making fast passes after deciding to take the trip is aggravating to my Planner Personality! On the positive side, I love that you can link the tickets to your My Disney page before leaving home.

yes just link them asap into your account and they will sit there till ready to use! then once used they are good for the normal 14 days from first swipe. but waiting to turn in the voucher there for an acutal ticket....yes possible it would expire. I got lots of info from them when I was ready to purchase and they were super easy to get a hold of and answer questions

Cheapest tixs you can get!! But be prepared to wait up until 5 days waiting for the codes to link to MB's

No. They sell basic, non-hoppers also.

I don't see where they sell anything except the hoppers :confused3

Also, why is the '5 day hopper' more money than the '5 day hopper + water park ticket - 2 days free'? Can you use the water park entrance on the same days as the theme parks? Is it just 1 day at a water park? Sorry, I don't get it.

I see the '7 day park hopper - 3 days free' is less than the '7 day hopper + water park ticket', which makes sense.

Not exactly correct.
Voucher has an expiration date that it must be redeemed by
Tickets themselves do not.
While similar and related, 2 very different things.
You only need worry about an expiration date if you plan to pick up physical tickets.
If you have a MB, plan to buy and/or use a MB from a Resort stay, you have no need to pick up tickets and the expiration date will never apply.
