Has anyone experienced the parks opening before the stated time? One time we arrived about 15 minutes before actual opening and they had already started letting people in.

that happened to us two years ago don't know the reason but the next year we got there early and had to wait

Few trips we were allowed in parks a few minutes early but you only got to go as far as rope drop area.We were held at this area until offical opening time.I think Disney does this some time's to cut down on crowd congestion at entrance que's.:wave2:

The last 2 years it's been wait at the entrance until opening. They do a fancy opening of the park so I am sure that's why they wait until official opening to let people in.;

I remember reading in an older Unofficial Guidebook that during the original Early Entry program they would let people in 1/2 hour or so earlier than they were supposed to, but it doesn't sound like they do this now.

Has anyone been let in early on EMH or otherwise THIS summer?

We went to MK on Sunday May 30, for EMH, and got there at 7:45am. They let people through the gate, but there was a rope up before you passed under the train station. They dropped the rope at 8:00 on the dot.

I was at AK on Saturday, June 12. We were allowed through the turnstiles before 9:00, but were held at the Tree of Life until Mickey, Minnie, & Pluto rode into the area and did an opening ceremony.

I'm sure they do this to eleminate some congestion at the opening hour.
