However, contrary to popular descriptions, SSE is not a geodesic dome, but rather a scale model of Buckminster Fullerine, a chemical compound whose formula is worth another AAQ!

I have no idea about the chemical formula...but I know SSE is not a Geodesic Dome...it is a Geodesic Sphere...

Off the top of my head, this is what I recall about Buckminster Fullerine:

A new set of cage forms of carbon has recently been discovered. C60 is a spherical shaped molecule with the appearance of a soccer ball. It is called Buckminster Fullerine after the architect who discovered the geodesic dome. Chemical slang for these compounds is Buckey balls.


Now, I was just telling my wife the other day about going to Epcot and being inspired by that vision of Buckey balls.
