I am wondering if we stay on dvc points and we wanted to visit another resort with for dinner or the pool would you have to pay for parking at that resort?

You will be given a parking pass to place in the front window of your car at check-in or use your MB to show you are staying onsite. You can use the free parking areas at any resort. If you want to use the valet parking then you will have to pay.

If parking is available at the other resort, (conventions may greatly limit free parking) 3 hours is customarily allowed for dining at the resort. (But not leaving the car at another resort to visit a park)

DVC points stays get free parking at WDW parks, too.

The only paid parking at WDW resorts is valet. (I think it's $20 or more + tip) since you pay for valet per day, there is no max length, even if you want to leave the car and visit a park.

All persons staying at a Disney resort have the same parking privileges regardless of whether they are paying guests or DVC staying on points. Getting into a resort other than the one at which you are staying can sometimes be a challenge. For example, near park resorts often apply 3 hour limits and at more crowded times you better be able to prove a confirmed restaurant reservation, or something else at the resort for which you have a confirmation, to be abe to get in.

If you want to valet park (now $25 a day to park at any and all resorts having valet), you can be easily admitted to any resort that has valet, including if purpose is to valet park and go to the nearby park.

If you have Tables in Wonderland and are going to a resort for a dinner reservation, you get free valet (tip still expected) at any resort that has it but it will be subject to a time of dining restriction and thus that 3 hour limit at some rsorts.

Valet is now $25 per day... (Gasp)

That's another HUGE plus for TiW.. Valet is free (less tip) if you are at a resort and using tables. Heck, even a drink at the bar covers it.

If you have a reservation you should be able to self park...if you have tables of wonderland you can valet park for free in some places

I just stayed last week at SSR for 7 nights and was never given a parking pass. I had to use my Magic Band for SSR. When visiting other resorts, I had to show my Drivers License, was told Magic Band was only for Parks or resort where I was staying. I'm an AP holder so I would use Magic Band at park anyway.
We had reservations at Ohana's, I still had to show the guard at the gate my Drivers license, even after he looked up my name.
