Parking validation at Storytellers Cafe in GCH?

Hi - we are staying off site and plan to have breakfast at Storytellers Cafe before doing a non-disney day (whale watching and beach).

Anyway, to save time we plan to drive to GCH, eat and then hit the road.

But it's not clear on Disney's website if you can get parking validation when eating at Storytellers Cafe? If so, is it only for self parking or for valet as well?

Thanks!
Todd

When you're asking about validation for valet, do you mean in terms of the time limit or in terms of the fee? I highly doubt that even with validation you would get "free" valet parking and there is no time limit associated with valet parking (other than having to pay the fees).

Still, your best bet is to call Guest Services at the hotel and ask them about validation and how it impacts parking fees at the hotel.

I just called, and yes, the validation at Storytellers is good for 2 hrs. of free parking at the GCH--including valet.

Thanks for starting this thread, OP! I hadn't thought about doing this, but now (since we're leaving right after having breakfast at Storytellers on the last day), it makes a lot of sense to me to pack the car, drive from our hotel to the GCH, eat breakfast and then take off--instead of trudging back to our hotel after breakfast to leave from there. (Nothing so much fun as trudging with kids who have that "I don't want to leave Disneyland!" look on their faces.)

Hmm. I just always thought about parking across the street by the PPH. I think it's free for 3 hours, right?

No...none of the hotels offer free parking without some type of validation. DTD provides three hours of free parking and then an additional 2 hours with validation. There is a DTD lot over by PPH, but the main lot is near RFC.

From: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/guest-services/parking/
Rates For Non-Hotel Guests
  • Self-parking: $17 for the first hour plus $9 per hour per vehicle, with a maximum rate of $53
  • Oversized vehicle parking: $22 for the first hour plus $9 per hour per vehicle, with a maximum rate of $53
  • Valet parking: $25 for the first hour plus $9 per hour per vehicle, with a maximum rate of $61

We have the same plan on departure day, but are going to Surf's Up. I knew that PPH offered validation for a few hours.

I found this thread through Google and needed to park for four hours for a Storytellers dinner and DTD visit. I didn't want to pay $18 an hour for the extra time at the hotel, so we parked at Downtown Disney and were surprised to find that with our dinner receipt we got an additional two hours validated at the DTD lot, which also has 2 hours free, so 4.5 hours of parking was only $6, since the hourly rate is only $12 instead of $18 at the hotel.

I love that they valet park your car for free when you eat at Storytellers or Napa Rose. It used to be 5 hours for both, but now it's 2 hours for Storytellers, and 5 for Napa Rose (at least, it was last year). I once was in a hurry and parked there for Downtown Disney dining - paid the full valet. So, keep in mind that this is only good for eating at the hotel restaurants. I believe it's the same for Steakhouse 55 and Disneyland Hotel valet parking.
