Parking spaces for expectant mothers at Walmart?

I have seen them and I gladly use them. It was great to use them when I was pregnant, I was huge and had severe siatic (sp?) pain so they came in very handy. Now with the baby I love being closer to the door so I don't have to have her out in the weather when its bad for too long.

No, there is no other reason to have them other than as a marketing ploy but I use them just the same. However, whether the store has them or not doesn't influence my decision to shop there.

I thinks it's nice to have, but if your pregnant and can't walk across the parking lot, then what will you do when you get in the store? What's the difference between walking in the parking lot and walking in the store?

Isn't that like asking any person with disabled placard who still walks what they are going to do once in the store?

I wasn't against it I was just asking. I never thought of a pregnant woman as disabled.

I wasn't flaming--but the question was curious--b/c though not a disability, it is debilitating to some as described her. And we don't question the disabled (though some do) over their need for a closer spot when they are ambulatory.

I know at the end of my pregnancy--I was able to ask my work for medical parking with doctors note b/c they moved my office and the parking lot was across a 4-lane road. The idea of waddling across the road with just 2 weeks left in the pregnancy seemed rediculous and dangerous to me and my doctor agreed. The medical parking permit was granted.

I think it's a nice courtesy and the few spaces are so insignificant in those huge parking lots that I don't mind. I too had a lot of pain when I walked so any step I could save was great. It also gets murderously hot in Texas and being big and pregnant just made it worse!
