Parking question

Ok, I have a very basic (I think?) parking question. Just bought an AP voucher, which I still need to cash in at teh park. If I go to DL and park at the M&F lot, pay the $12 to park, then get my PAP with parking, do I get any credit/refund/etc for the $12 I paid that day? I'm guessing the answer is no, but figured I'd check.

I don't know for sure, but I would think you would. Bring your parking reciept and be sure to ask that. I was going to try this and add parking to my AP in Jan but the line for the bank (AP center) was about 60-90 min at least! So I never did add parking.

We had Premium passes last year and it saved us LOTS of $ each trip. We started with the Deluxe and then upgraded on our 2nd trip after we had to pay the $40/day tix to go on a blockout day and 3 days of $12 parking.
It just made sense for us to upgrade for the full package, just for the discount at Ariels Grotto and Blue Bayou.

Yes, we applied the $12 towards parking on our AP. Like PPs said, just bring your parking ticket with you.

Right, I have a deluxe voucher, will redeem and immediately upgrade to PAP. The famous Costco DAP + $50 GC deal.

If you have a voucher for the premium pass then you just show it to the ticket both person when parking. They printed us a 1 day free parking ticket and instructed us to get our annual passes that day. No Big deal.

Hmm. I've never had an AP, but was going to get one, via Costco deal, for our trip planned in Sept. I thought that the Deluxe also had meal discounts? We're planning to make reservations for Blue Bayou, and I was anticipating an AP discount. Do I need to upgrade to Premium to get a meal discount at BB?

I was thinking the same thing. Thought you had a PAP voucher already, and just had no idea what they'd do for you!

Thanks! But I don't think that the extra 5%, plus the parking pass, is going to justify the upgrade. We won't be blacked out on our Sept trip. We're anticipating early Dec and sometime next spring, but dates aren't set yet. If we need to, I'll upgrade then. But since we don't yet know if we'll need the blackout days, I guess I'll just do the Deluxe for now.

We got discounts on food with our Deluxe APs but we get a bigger one with our Premium

It's not just the extra 5 on food, you also get discounts in most of the stores with the Premium and you don't with the Deluxe, you also get free parking with the Premium and not the Deluxe. You can add parking to your Deluxe AP for $59. At $12 a day if you think you will be parking it's well worth it to upgrade 1 of your APs or to add the parking to your Deluxe. There are a lot of people who upgrade only 1 AP to Premium just for the discounts.

if the AP Voucher actually has something like with parking, the CM might actually just wave you in... it varies on the CM though.

GrandBob, you're right that the upgrade isn't always worth it for everyone. I recently was wondering if one of us in our family should have upgraded because of the parking and extra discounts but when I figured out how much we've spent so far on food and souveniers and estimated how much we would spend the rest of the year, it was still cheaper to buy the deluxe AP instead of the premium. For some people it's a better deal but for other's it isn't, unless having no blockout days is worth the price difference which it would be to some people. But it's good to look into it though just to be sure.

Yes, I know about the trick of just upgrading one pass to PAP. But still probably not worth it. By September we'll know more about our plans for December and next spring, so we may or may not decide to upgrade then. But all the information I got here will help that decision. Thanks everyone.
