Hello!

I have read that a resort stay includes parking. Do you receive a parking pass upon check-in? If so, do they need your vehicle information (i.e. plate number)? (We will have a rental car, so if they need the license plate number, I'll have to remember to write it down!)

Thanks! :goodvibes

Yes, you do receive your parking pass at checkin. No, you don't need to know the license plate number. They just asked us if we have a car and then printed this piece of paper that has our resort name and checkin and out dates. It may have included our name, that I don't recall.

Ours have always been the pre-printed ones and we've received them from the security guard as we drove through the resort entrance. Depending on the resort, they may give it to you at check-in instead.

We have always gotten them at check-in. The CM should give you one and if you need an extra one, you can ask for it then.

The Contemporary started doing that this past August, however we still got another parking pass when we checked in on the Atrium Club floor.

As stated, you'll get the pass when you check in. You don't need any other kind of information. Disney has its rules but they aren't that anal. I've noticed that many hotels are not asking for the detailed car information anymore either. I only know my car icense number because it's an easy one (not a personalized plate but an easy combinaton).

will they provide you with maps of the entire WDW layout so you will know how to get everywhere from your resort?

Thanks in advance!

On the back of the Resort map there should be a map of WDW. I know they have that on the Resort map for the Polynesian and Grand Floridian.

There are signs everywhere and We didn't really use the maps.

We had to ask for a WDW map last October while staying at PC. Warning: the type is TINY! Couldn't even read it with my reading glasses! *lol*

But it did provide us the general direction we needed when we left the resort. We just depended on signs after that--sometimes more successfully than others! :confused3 We ended up at All Stars when trying to return to PC one time. My sense of direction apparently is turned off at WDW! :rotfl:

thanks for the replies. I figured there would be plenty of signage...but having a map would just help me get a little better oriented before venturing out!

Just pay close attention to the signage as some are fairly close to one another and can easily confuse you if you're not alert....

And the parking pass does have your name on it, your departure date, what resort and a bar code. (or at least mine did at Sports)

That's how I found out that there was a dealer from a local dealership there (that and his dealer tag on his van...) who was parked right behind my car. :)
