Parking in Long-Term area at Stewart or any Airport in NY ?

Anyone park at Stewart or any airport - Long Term parking for 7 or more days during the summer months ?

Was your car OK ?
How did you protect it again break-ins, the sun, or other issues?

Would it be better to rent a car one way and then pick up a rental car at Stewart to drive home ?

I have parked multiple times at JFK and never had a problem. Usual common sense precautions (no electronics etc in view) and park in a well lit area.
