This may sound like sort of an of question but we'll be hoping to do a few things in the LA/ hollywood area and was wondering about parking at each location... (The Hollywood sign, Rodeo Drive, Grauman's chinese theather, walk of fame... stuff like that..) Thanks for any info! Also if there's anything else in that area that we must see please share!

For the Chinese Theatre/Walk of Fame, you can park under the Hollywood & Highland complex. Be sure to buy a bite to eat (or a souvenir) and have your parking ticket validated. It'll cost you $2 for the first few hours of parking. Look up Hollywood & Highland online and you can find the exact info.

You can also see the Hollywood sign from the Hollywood & Highland complex. Driving further up to see it isn't really that great a thing. For Rodeo Drive, you might be able to find a parking lot around somewhere, but it will cost you some money. Bring lots of quarters if you want to try to find street parking. I haven't been over that way in a very long time, so I can't estimate what parking lots will cost.

There is plenty of cheap parking in Beverly Hills at city-ran garages, many of which are free for the first 2 hours. Just make sure it is a city-ran garage, not a private garage.

I'll second these. We were there a couple of weeks ago. We parked under the Hollywood and Highland complex, it was very convenient. At Rodeo Drive, there are public lots at the west end of Rodeo, before the residential section of the street, I can't remember the cross street, not Wilshire but the other end of the shopping district.

The Hollywood Sign is located on the top of the
mountain. You can park at the Griffith Observatory
to get a nice view of it.

Grauman's chinese theather and walk of fame
are next to the Hollywood & Highland complex
as Magix said.

The street with the free parking near Rodeo Dr.
is Santa Monica - north of Rodeo.

There is also Melrose and the shopping there.
The La Brea Tar Pits. Farmers Market. In
Griffith Park you'll find Travel Town with the
LA Live Steamers, the Merry-Go-Round where
Walt got the idea for Disneyland and the Griffith
Park Railroad and Pony Ride.

Los Angeles (Hollywood is not a city)

Technically Hollywood is in Los Angeles, and is governed by the City of Los Angeles, but everyone refers it to Hollywood. Just as the many areas in the San Fernando Valley are referred to their name (such as Woodland Hills, Van Nuys, Canoga Park), it is technically Los Angeles. However, if you Google an address, you need to use their common name and not Los Angeles.

Not at all. A Google Maps search of any "Hollywood" address will show it as Los Angeles, California. Go and type "6565 Hollywood Blvd." into Google and see what city you get.

Businesses prefer to use "Hollywood," of course. It sounds fancier.

The chinese theater and walk of fame are on hollywood blvd. parking during the week (daytime) is not that difficult to find. There's plenty of off street parking too. You cant really go to the hollywood sign. Rodeo drive is easy. beverly hills has plenty of public parking lots.
