DW and I went out for a meal tonight. This was a thank you from my work for working all weekend a couple of weeks ago fixing our mail server which had taken an unfortunate turn :( A cheap night out we thought!!

This didn't turn out to be the case though as I parked in a pay and display car park at 7pm and decided that I wouldn't have to pay for a ticket as who would be wandering around issuing parking fines on a saturday evening!!!

On returning from our meal I noticed that there was a piece of paper under my wiper, which I initially thought was a flyer or some other piece of junk. However it turmed out to be a parking ticket for £60 which I can reduce to £30 if I pay it within 14 days  So not such a cheap night after all!!!

I'll just have to get away with parking in the car parks of plymouth for free now to the value of £30 in order to make my money back :teeth: I think DW might disagree with that strategy though ;)

Don't mention parking and Plymouth to me!

A couple of years ago we took advantage of the park and ride service while on Holiday, (I think it was near the football ground). When we got back to the car some nice person had broken into our car, stolen our CD player and about £2000 of camera equipment from the boot! (I would have normally left my camera gear at our holiday cottage, but there was a big notice from the local police telling us not to leave valuables in the cottage as there had been a number of break ins recently  ). It was persisting it down with rain as well! We called the police; who just said come to the local police station to report it. Ended up driving round Plymouth looking for the police station, with the kids sitting on broken glass and the rain coming in through the broken rear quarter light!

Haven't been to Plymouth since :sad1:

ok no Alan, that was bad luck. My nan who is 83 and can hardley walk got a parking ticket last week, she we most upset about it. We are applying for a diabled badge for her now.
