Hello! My mom and I are considering returning to Orlando in April to celebrate her birthday. After some research, it will be much cheaper to stay outside of Disney and buy park passes from an outside source (like Undercover Tourist). Does Disney offer any discounts on parking for multiple days? We're planning on doing 5 days at Disney so I was wondering if its $15 each time or if they have a multi-day pass?
Thanks!

I am not aware of a parking pass. Maybe someone else is but I don't think I have ever seen one offered.

No multi day pass. But you can save your receipt from another park and enter another on the same day. Also, the parking fees are as listed:

$14.00 - Car/Taxi/Shuttle/Limousine/Motorcycle
$15.00 - Camper/Trailer
$18.00 - Bus/Tractor Trailer

Free parking and discounts are a perk of getting an annual pass for 1 visitor in a party . Some hotels offer free but usually inconvenient bus service to the parks. Non Disney hotel bus service pick up is particularly inconvenient for the Magic Kingdom

I don't know anything about passes, but you could definitely make extra travel time and park in DTD. I'm pretty sure parking there is free, then just use the buses from there.

First, that is frowned upon on these boards. Also you're suggesting that someone spend 3 hours of their day to avoid 14 dollars a day. You can save your receipt from other parks and gain access on the same day. Simple.

If you park in DTD, you would have to take a bus to a resort and then take a bus from there to a park. I can't imagine wasting that much time, especially since buses don't run from DTD until the shops there are open. It would be nice if Disney offered multi-day discounts on parking, but I guess they make more money charging $14/day.

I was not aware of that, I was just offering a suggestion. For a lot of people money is tight right now, so that 14 bucks adds up during a vacation. I don't care how many people tell me, "It's only $14.00". It adds up. So all I was doing was trying to save someone some money and passing on a tip someone else gave me.
And like I said earlier, yes you are wasting some time, but you are saving the money. For some people, the money is a bit more important to save, even if it's a small amount.

Who cares if it is frowned upon on the Dis?

Becuase the boards do not permit passing on ways to *Cheat* the system....thats why!

There is getting to be more and more people who think they are *above the rules*...*they are entitled*.!......the more some people do/try to cheat the system, the more and more the little perks that make WDW so specail will disappear.

In this particular case...........the buses to and from DTD are designed to go to the reosrts....not the parks....there are NO BUSES TO THE PARKS. the other poster was right on when they said it can take 3 hours of time to get tfrom and to DTD. Not to mentions the buses dont start running to and from DTD until later in the morning.

We all like to save a little money..but chesating the system just makes thing harder for everyone.

if the $14 is going to make or break your vacation, perhaps this isn't the right time to go to Disney. It's not worth the stress to have to count and pinch every penny...it takes away some of the magic, imo.

And, YES, *I* care about teaching other people how to cheat the already generous perks we get at DW. People will really be in a snit when they start charging for parking at DTD, won't they?

As far as I known, it's the daily rate and that's it. I think that is one of the biggest perks of staying on site and a factor to consider when you're pricing up a trip. I guess what you have to consider is whether or not an off-site stay is cheaper than a value resort on-site by more than $75. Other considerations would be whether Disney are offering any deals (free dining, discounts etc.) during your stay if you buy the whole package from them.
I tend to find that there is very little in it when you weigh the two up against each other.

You are so right!

And just in case some of the other posters are not aware, they did use to have buses that ran from DTD to the parks. They stopped them because too many people were parking at DTD to avoid paying the parking fee. When people do things that cost Disney money, and inconvenice other guests, they notice.

I sincerly hope Disney never decides to charge for parking at DTD, but if people continue to use it as a parking lot and not as a destination, they will.

If $14 makes that much difference in your budget that it makes or breaks your trip, then you do need to either save a bit longer, or cut somewhere else. No one likes to thow money away, but sometimes you have to pay for what you have to pay for. And paying for parking is one of those things you have to do if you stay off site. If someone needs tips or ideas on how to save, a post on the Budget Board will bring them great tips.:)

We had to count and pinch every penny for our trip last year. And it was worth it! We'll be counting and pinching to go on our next trip also and I'm sure that will be worth it also. While I wouldn't park at DTD to save $14 a day, I do look everywhere I can to save a dollar here and a dollar there. It must be nice to have so much money you don't have to worry about it.

I don't know about anyone else, but I save a heck of a lot more than the cost of parking when I stay offsite. Even staying at a value, it would be around $700/week per room. We would have needed 2 rooms, so approximately $1400 for the week. Instead we got 5 bedroom pool home 3 miles from Disney for $700/week. It not only saved us money, but it saved us time compared to bus transportation and it definitely saved our sanity, as we would have had 4 people in those tiny rooms with one tv and one bathroom:scared1:.

I think the $14 parking is well worth it. I HATE waiting on the buses after a long day at the park, and I HATE waiting in the long, hot line in the morning for the right bus to come. I penny pinch other places, and we have a great time every year, but I would never park elsewhere and bus in. It is just a frustrating way to start the day. OP, if you need help cutting $14 out of your budget per day, I know there are lots of us here who can help you. Believe me, when you're sitting in your airconditioned car after a long day in the parks, you will be glad to have paid that $14;)

FWIW, this is allowed by Disney. It is not cheating the system. I'm sure WDW doesn't like it a whole lot, and if they want thay can make rules against it, but to date they haven't. Cheating on tickets, ages, refillable cups, etc are a different issue.

What you can do (this is what we did) in the time before you go (while you're still planning) is when you have an extra $14- stick it in an envelope and you keep doing this until you have enough $14 "packets" to get you through your whole trip. Then stick it in your glove compartment; then all you have to do is hand your $14.00 packet to the parking lot cm.

That way, it doesn't really feel like it's eating into your trip budget- it's just another way to trick yourself, I guess- but somehow it still makes it easier :)

Disney has arranged it so that it is not convenient to park at DTD and use DTD buses to access the parks. There are no direct buses to any theme park (or the TTC) from DTD. Some form of transfer at a resort is necessary. Guests trying to make rope drop are out of luck; DTD buses start running when the businesses there open.

And yes, the reason Disney does this is to discourage guests parking for free at DTD to get access to the theme parks.

I suggest you check your information.it is not permitted to park at DTD and then go to the parks or then why would they make it so hard to try and get to the parks by bus from DTD.....A little common sense here Sir!........in fact you don't have to check...better yet.........read your own statement.......not only don't they like it.....but its againist the rules....!
