Parking Fees went up

I've stayed at Royal Pacific twice and both times I was not charged for parking. I knew how much it would cost and had it figured into my price but I checked my bill both times and was never charged. So either it was an over sight or they were nice enough to drop the charges because I was staying more than a few nights.

Regardless, I realize that hotels do need to charge for parking but if your not using parking, you shouldn't have to pay extra for it. I think it's a bit ridiculous to pay as much as they are currently charging though.

Musta been your lucky day!

Does anyone know when Universal's hotels started charging for parking as a separate fee? I'm sure when I first stayed at the hotels when they were relatively new there was no such charge and I do feel these kinds of 'resort' fees are invidious.

Ever since I can remember. If you do a search, we are talking about a $6 parking fee in 2002.

I don't think its only Universal resorts prices for parking going up cause I stayed at the Doubletree in June and it was $5.00 to park and now its $7.00 and thats the reason I try to stay as close to Universal as I can so that I don't have to mess with parking fees.

I think parking fees are ridiculous. I agree with the pp what next pay to swim, bath, or how about per flush?

This is certainly not the worst parking fee I've ever paid. We stayed down town Chicago this fall and paid $46.00 a night to park. That was outrageous on top of the over $200.00 hotel charge.

I still think it is terrible to charge for parking.
