Parking at the BWV will be bad this weekend!

I did not think that Disney could close the parking lot to DVC members staying at that resort.

Definitely write Disney and find out why - and mention to them there was no warning.

Also demand some of your annual fee back. If they can take away your rights to park at your resort - then they should give you some of your fee back.

those parking lots do NOT belong to Disney. We paid for them thru the maintence fees. Either stop charging us thru the maintence fees - or quit refusing owners the right to park.

also demand that you get bell service from your car to your room for free - since you can not park where you should be able to park.

oh would be so mad if this happened to me.

Friday 4:45 pm Update

There are 2 Orange County Police vehicles at the entrance to the BW. There is a CM person and multiple Disney Security Officers at the guard shack. They are checking room keys and parking passes.

We (BW resort guests) are being instructed to park in the secondary parking lot on the left. There appears to be about 70 to 80 parking spaces remaining and the valet lot appears almost full (maybe 10 to 20 spots left). The security officer at the parking lot entrance checked our credentials, also.

One of the Security Officers told us that there are 3 weddings and a "big event" taking place tonight and that is why the main BW parking lot is closed to the resort guests.

There is a valet person, CM, and security officer at the main parking lot allowing vehicles into the lot (looks like wedding folks).

There still has not been any general communication to the resort guests as to how long the parking disruption will last.

It's not just the DVC members staying at the Boardwalk Villas that would be effected, because there is also those guests with cars that are staying at the Boardwalk Inn.

The secondary parking lot to the left of the main entrance by the guard shack isn't that big since the valet parking lot is right next to it. So I can't believe that BWI/BWV guests are being treated this way.

Goodness - Disney ought to be able to do better than that! Hire temp valet people and park the "special" event cars someplace else or have those people park someplace else and bus them over. That's a typical solution for too many people and not enough parking. :sad2::sad2::sad2: Especially since Disney is most certainly making money from those events and imposing on other paying customers. :sad2::sad2::sad2: How very poor to close down the hotel guest parking lot.

Maybe I'm a little naive, but isn't the lot directly across from the Boardwalk Convention Center part of the Convention Center not necessarily the hotel? It's more convenient to park at, true.

Sounds like they are expecting some VIPs and want to keep other guests out of the area.

Yes their main parking lot is located right across from the Boardwalk Convention Center.

Unacceptable if he is not a DVC member staying at BWV he can not park in my lot!!!

Thanks for the laugh ...

When we golf at LBV, the ranger always points out the OKW villa where President Carter has stayed. I can't confirm that he's a DVC owner.

As of tonight at 7:30 PM, (Friday night), the parking lot was open again. I am now a happy camper again.

wow, lots going on. We never moved our car yesterday so we don't know what's going on. we spent the evening on the boardwalk last night and it was filled with "golf folks". I know the golf event started. The gartner folks are gone now. We are changing rooms today before we start our second week. We do have to head out to the airport to pick up some family today. Since we look down on the smaller "canal" lot, it was not completely full yesterday as it was the day before. Many CMs are parking there, so that does account for the Florida tags with no parking permit...just FYI. I figured the guards must've been restricting the parking since there were not many cars coming in. We had stopped at the front desk on Thursday night and promised a response, but never got one. We never got that call letting us know what to expect. I own at BWV and love it hear, but the parking has always been a thorn in this rose.

Parking and the buses....waited 45 min for a bus to MK on Wed while 3 buses to AK and 2 to DTD came...got to MK at 9:15 missed opening.
Oh only saw one very small wedding yesterday maybe 10 people out by the gazebo on the water..didn't see any dressed people at the times I was out and about...
Oh so CM are parking in that lot ? explains why at 10 AM it was almost empty and when we returned at 1 it was more than 1/2 full. but at least we could park..
Oh and the people who put the pizza flyers under your doors have no problem getting in either.

Any parking updates this afternoon? The BW parking has always been a pain but this weekend sounds like it's gone to another level of annoyance. Yeah, how do the pizza flyer people get in? And where do they park?

Just checked in. There are tons of guards. There is a lot of space in the lot in front of BW Inn. Guards are turning many people away. It will be interesting to see what happens tonight since it is Saturday and F & W.
