Parking at resorts?

How does parking at resorts work? If we have a meal reservation at a resort, can we park there (and if so, is there a fee?) and then take the monorail into the park for the day?

If you have an ADR, the guard gate will have your name. You are allowed to park for 3 hours at no cost for your meal and to enjoy the public areas of the resort.

If you want to go to a theme park, you need to move your car to a theme park lot, return to your own resort hotel, or valet park (at the appropriate fee).

Security does patrol the lots and can tow your car if you are there longer than the allowable time.

Have a nice vacation!

You can park for your ADR and then are expected to move your car. That is unless you valet park. They are marked as not for theme park access.

The lots are way too small to accommodate the resorts own guests plus everyone else. And the resort's own guests have no other option but to park at their home resort. It does happen that the lots get full and you come back to find there are no spots and it's an awful feeling.

So either valet park for a price or move your car after your meal. Basically it's about showing the same courtesy to that resorts guests that one would expect at their home resort.

We drove to the Contemporary for dinner at the California Grill and then walked to the park and left the car. Never realized that we had to move it!

Is there a fee to park at resorts for our meal?

There is no fee. Some places may or may not ask for your I.D. But as others have stated, it is only meant for you to eat meals there, and/ or to look around or explore that particular resort.

You could valet park your car and then leave it for the day. Or simply park at TTC and monorail to the resort, go to the park and then back to TTC for your car.

There are times when you cannot valet park at those resorts if you are not staying there. We saw it happen at the Contemporary one time when we were arriving for breakfast. The line of cars trying to get in was very long and they were turned away.
