I am sure this has been asked a thousand times but the search feature isn't working so I can't search for the answer....How much is parking at the port? How much is the DCL bus from the resorts to the port? Trying to decide if we should drive from the resorts and park our car or use Disney's transportation to the port...

It costs $10.00 per day to park at the port.
I don't know the current cost of Disney transportation to the port.
If I had my car available I know that I would drive over to the port and then park it there myself rather than taking the Disney transportation.
If you have your own car then you are on your own time schedule and are not confined to when the busses are leaving. You can arrive early if you wish or stay later etc.

Disney specifically says that you are not allowed to park and leave your car at the resorts. DCL bus is $25ish one way, $48 round trip per person, so for 2 people, it is cheaper to drive your car and park. Alternatively, you can stay at the Radisson Port Canaveral or the Quality Suites Cocoa Beach the night before the cruise. They are "sister" hotels, and allow you to park your car at the Radisson for the week of the cruise and take their free shuttle to the port. The hotel starts at $85 on line, but that is cheap when you deduct the $70 you would have spent on parking.

When sailing on Sat., we stay at Disney thru Thurs nite. Check out Fri. morning, but still enjoy the parks, etc. Then move "off property" on Fri. nite. If you don't mind one night in a different hotel, it can save serious money, and you still enjoy all the benefits of staying at a Disney resort.

Thanks for the info. Kcashner, I wasn't referring to parking at the resorts, I was referring to parking at the port if we end up driving our own car down as opposed to flying and renting a car for our WDW stay. :)

The Radisson is an open lot with anyone parked there having the ability to come and go at their convenience (people cruise on many different lines, different days.) The lot by the DCL terminal is fenced and guarded. And, people only go in and out 3 days a week.

I'm not aware of any problems at the Radisson, but it is definitely less secure.

Hey goin2disneyagain.....We're from the Atlanta area as well and have driven to Port Canaveral for the last 5 years and always parked at the port and have never had a problem....we enjoy the drive as we can always make stops to eat, shop, etc....you have much more flexibility when driving vs. flying......Andy
