On our next trip, we are planning to do a split stay between Beach Club and BLT. We will have a car. On our transfer day, we'd like to go to Downtown Disney via the boats at POR. We spent a night at POR earlier this year and my kids have begged to be able to go back and see it again. I thought it would be a nice way to spend the time during which we will be "homeless" in between rooms if we drove over to POR, spent a little time walking around the resort, then took the boat to DTD and back for a bit in the afternoon, before eventually heading over to BLT once we have a room. I know that the general time frame for parking at a resort you are not staying at is 3 hours. This would exceed that, but not by much - probably looking at about 4 hours total. I know that parking at POR is ample from staying there previously, so I'm not really concerned about taking a spot away from a guest like I would be at the Epcot or monorail resorts. Thoughts?

We did this last year. We went over to POR to eat since we got real sick of the food court at CSR. Then we took the boat to DTD. It may have been longer than 3 hours, can't remember. I know when we entered the gate and told them we weren't staying there, just eating, he didn't give us a time we had to be out, just waved us through. We parked up front while we ate, then moved the car to one of the lots and got on the bus there. The lot was more than 1/2 empty when we got there, and when we left, so no issue IMO.
