Has anyone any experience of parking at Manchester airport?

I'm considering the multi storey car park at about £98 for 15 nights, and am not at all interested in the way off site car parks. The aim is to be out of the airport and home as quickly as possible.

I have considered taxis all the way from West Yorkshire - prices are comparable - but I'm anxious about being hostage to someone else's time keeping!

Previously we've parked at my DM's and taxi-ed to the airport (about 6 miles), but on the way home all the queuing for a taxi, sitting in rush hour traffic in the taxi and spending an hour being sociable leaves me in barely a fit state to drive.

Any advice?

Thanks :D

Hi,

Why don't you consider staying at the Radisson in Manchester airport the night before your flight, just a thought, you are actually in the airport then.

You leave your car at the hotel and the new system brings your car direct to the arrivals part of the airport for you.

We stayed a couple of weeks ago, really nice hotel.
The cost of the room with 15days parking was £125.

Lynda,

Don't really fancy staying overnight - we're less than an hour away and have lots to do the night before: cats to cattery, guinea pigs to guinea pig sitter, friend's birthday etc!

Did you get bussed to the terminal or could you walk? How stressful was it? We were bussed from MCO to the Alamo hire place a few years ago and I found it fairly horrendous - too many people, too much luggage and real fear of losing the kids!

Thanks

Edie,

The hotel is actually part of the airport and is connected by the tunnel between the two terminals

hi edie from West yorkshire!

We went in August & staye d the night before in Bewleys hotel at Manchester airport. I would def recommend it & would use the hotel again. The coach from the airport runs every half hour & literally took 5 mins to get there.
Bus costs £2 per adult but we'd booked through ABC holiday extras & it was already paid for.

Your car is taken to an off site car-park which you tel on your return. it took 10 mins from phone call for the bus to arrive & 5 mins to car-park. No problems.

The rooms at the hotel are nice , ensuite with 2 double beds & well insulated we didn't hear any airport noise.

We ate in the bar which opens till late & the food was fine. With 6 of us travelling the restaurant was too expensive.

Would use again we look at it as our holiday starting a day early. & it beats getting up in middle of night though that depends on when your flight is .

It cost us £156 i think but that was for 2 rooms with parking for 1 car . We felt it was well worth it.

We stayed at the Radisson last year and are staying there again in 4 weeks time. It was great to be able to get out of bed and just walk to the check in desks. We have paid £150 including 15 days parking - well worth it!

hi edie,
we've just arrived back and if you want a good recommendation, use premier parking which is long stay on site. it cost us £73 for 16 nights. when you arrive, you park the car by reception and when you return, it is waiting for you for quick getaway. buses to terminals run approx every 7 mins and take about 2 mins only to t1. you can get it discounted via aa.

we've used it twice now and is excellent for quick getaway. read bad reviews about carminder.

good luck, rick

Hi edie w

We normally use the multi storey option you first mentioned. Its so convenient and no waiting for buses etc to take you to outdoor long stay carparks usually in the rain. Just take the lift to the car and you're on the way. If you book with www.abcholidayextras.co.uk they just lift the barrier when you give the booking reference on the intercom at the exit.
