We're flying out of Boston for the first time, in a long time, and was wondering how far the economy lot is from the terminals. According to MassPort's website, parking here costs $96 a week compared to $154 in the Central Parking garage. Which is better/safer to park in? We're going Saturday to Saturday, so we'll me missing the work week traffic. How much time should we give to get from the parking lot to the ticket counter? How busy is it there early on a Saturday morning (our flight leaves at 7am)? Do they still allow families with children to board early?

Economy parking is very easy; there is a bus that picks you up and goes to all terminals; they usually run about every 10-15 minutes. The lots are gated, and not so big that they can't see someone fooling with a car.

I'd give it 20 minutes or so from lot to terminal; how long it takes to get through they line is another thing, that depends on the airline. Same thing with the preboarding, that's up to the airline.

Saturdays are pretty busy, but 7AM is early; I'd get there between 5-5:30 depending on the weather, check you filght times before you leave the house. You could also check in online, if your airline allows it, then youcan just check your bags when the bus drops you off at the terminal, you go right to security, and no waiting for the counter.

We used the Economy lots and had no problem with them. Would have used them for our Thanksgiving trip but we were afraid it might snow and didn't feel like cleaning off the car at the end of a trip. It's kind of confusing getting to the lots but the shuttle buses run frequently.

When we returned to Logan, my dd and I went to baggage claim and dh went to the lot to get the car. Then dd and I met him outside with the bags. He never left the car.

Not having been there for quite some time, I was a bit nervous. Thanks again!

Terk-1...I aleays recommend Logan Park n Go an off site parking lot. It is $15 per day with shuttle bus to and from airport included. I use them all the time when I travel on business. They leave the lot immediately after picking you up at your car and I have never waited more than 10 minutes for one of their shuttle busses at the airport.:D

And don't forget to pack your new World Champion Red Sox shirts!!! Can you even believe it!!!! :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

A co-worker of mine went to Sports Authority at 3am this morning and bought some of the official hats (like the players were wearing last night) and shirts. He offered to sell me a couple of the hats for the same price he paid for them, so I got 2. One for me & one for my brother. I may give mine to my bil to be nice. Need to get a shirt though.

You might think about hiring a limo to and from Logan. Depending on where you are from it may be cost effective.

I normally use Magic Carpet Limo from Mansfield and it's much easier than driving and parking.

I'm from Carver and they have always been there for me.

Cranbiz - when I saw your name under this Logan thread I was going to post and ask if you were from Carver, but you've already answered my question! That's where we are also. What a small world (after all...)!

I wish I could find a decently priced limo service from central Ma to Logan. I have to use Knights and that is $126 (and then add in a 20 % tip) for the 3 of us, r/t using a shared van. We have to stand around, outside at the airport, waiting for the van to show up to take us home. And then we may have to pick up other people at other terminals!!! Didn't get home until 2 a.m. in August and our flight got in at 11!!!!!

Maybe FL Tours could open up a branch office up here????

It's tough to find a service in our area. There's only a couple of places and it gets a bit expensive. Also, you have to share vans with people and they charge extra to pick you up earlier than 6am.

I don't mind paying the parking and this way you can come and go on your schedule and not on other people's.

Where in Mass are you? We've had great luck with the Logan Express buses. They have locations in Braintree, Woburn, Peabody, and Framingham. Hourly or half hourly service, extremely prompt, no hassles, will drop you at your terminal, get your luggage out for you just as a cab would. Going home is the same thing, though they do stop running at 11 or 12 depending on day of the week, so if you have a late flight cmoing in you might want to make different arrangements. Otherwise you get your baggage in baggage claim, step outside, and climb on the bus headed to your city when it pulls up.

$11 one way, $20 round trip (seniors less, kids <12 free)

Parking's $11/day or $66 for a week.

We mostly use it not to park but a place to be dropped off so we don't drive into the airport (at least one way). We did leave two cars there for a week though when we went to Disney last year and it worked great.

Just wanted to second Steve's vote for Logan Park and Go - info is at www.loganparking.com (you can reserve a spot, but it isn't really necessary). The buses run constantly. I think the price recently went up to $16/day, but it is still cheaper than parking AT Logan (a.k.a., the bowels of Hades).
