Not to sound grumpy but I do not understand why people who have not paid for the stay at a Monorail/deluxe resort have a problem with not being able to park for over 3 hours for an ADR or to shop. If they wanted to park there they should have booked a stay at one of these resorts.
I agree they should park at the TTC and catch the boat or monorail for their ADR and shopping if they do not wish to pay Valet parking or risk the possibility of being towed. Security does patrol the lots for a reason and those who have paid for the right to stay at that resort should not have to hunt for a place to park when returning to their vacation resort.
I do not understand this sense of entitlement guests have for what they have not paid for. Rules are in place for a reason as well as for the security and well being of the resort's guests.
Here's the issue.....and basically, I agree with you. Disney allows anyone to drive to any resort, park their car there, a d eat, shop, or just check out the resort. They want people visiting these resorts....they want guests to have 'resort envy' and book that more expensive resort for the next stay. But, they don't want you trying out the 'park access' perk!
It's really, for the most part, the honor system. Yes, security patrols the parking lots. But they aren't going to do much....usually. It's up to people to decide what's the right thing to do. My suggestion? If someone feels they can park at a resort and then head to a park, it would be nice if they chose a distant parking spot....vs one that is close to the front, which takes spots away from those paying the high rates to stay there.
