We are debating whether to take a bus tour to LA from Anaheim or tour on our own.

If we drive ourselves, is there a website that shows where to park in LA
especially around Grauman's Chinese Theater or other tourist areas. What are prices like? Is it metered or are there parking lots/garages.
We would probably do this on the Saturday that we arrive since we have a several hours between arrival and the check in time at our hotel since we are already up in the LA area anyway.

Thanks.

We were just there in October 2012 and loved our trip. I think I copied a map from the city sightseeing bus web site. On it, it shows various parking garages around the area. We parked in a garage about a block away from the Chinese Theater. I think we paid like $10 to park there for a few hours and it was valet.

We debated doing the city sightseeing tour in LA but opted not to. We did do it in San Francisco and loved it...if I had to do it again, I would likely take the tour as they really gave a lot of info that we wouldn't have otherwise knows.

A word of advice....if someone stops you on the street and says they want to interview you for the Jimmy Kimmel show...DONT do it. I asked if they were going to try and embarrass us and of course they said no. We waited around about 15 minutes and when it was time for the little interview they asked horrifying embarrassing questions. I worried about them airing it on TV...they didn't that night but they can use those street interviews at any point.

Have fun!

We usually park at the Hollywood and Highland Center. It's a huge outdoor mall with some restaurants right next to Grauman. It's got hourly rates but the maximum is $10. It's a pretty big parking structure so there's usually always room and we like that there are always people around.

We also park at the Hollywood & Highland center. Any store or restaurant will validate your parking ticket. We usually go to Starbucks, but the customer service desk will also validate for you. Parking there is safe, easy, and right next door to the Chinese Theatre. Across the street is Disney's El Capitan Theatre and the Disney Soda Fountain, if you have time to pop in for a quick Disney fix.
