Parkhopper upgrade to AP/ DVC discount?

Has anyone had experience upgrading a DL parkhopper to an AP with DVC discount? I believe DVC members get $20 off the AP rate. I want to make sure we can get our DVC discount.

Has the parkhopper been used? I'm not sure what the DL upgrade rules are, they might be different than WDW. WDW does not allow upgrades more than 14 days from first use. I believe unused DL tickets have an expiration date.

We have done this. Just take a current parkhopper (ie has to be either on the last valid day or not have all the days used up) to any ticket booth and mention that you're a DVC owner b, show your membership card and they'll plug in the discount. Had my card on me when I did hubbys and my APs, but when we dd the DS's AP all I had was my AP and my VGC room card that said Welcome Home but the CM was nice enough to give me the discount anyways. Also can upgrade in the park at the AP center at the end of Main St but I find the ticket booths in central pavilion faster.

Thanks for the info taaren. Yeah it would be a new parkhopper purchased for this this trip. Glad to know someone else has done this succesfully!

Do they give you the full price of the park hopper or the discounted price? I wonder as this might give a bigger discount? Like the undercover tourist hoppers members are using to get the full price of the hopper applied to the AP.
