Planning a quick trip to the parks for two days in early June. We have two kids 5 and 7 and always stay onsite and usually for 4-6 days. Since it's a quick trip I don't want to do the GCH or DLH since I think we'll be in the parks most of the time. With the current deal I can get the PPH for 188 a night. I'm also looking at the Park Vue for only $40 less a night.

I haven't stayed at the PPH with kids so don't know how they will do on the long walk. We won't have a stroller.

The Park Vue has breakfast and looks really close to the entrance plaza. It also has cockroaches and exterior doors, which I'm not crazy about but could deal with for two nights. It has also has free parking and no resort fee.

Where would you stay?

I havent stayed at parkvue, but I have stayed at PPH. I was not that impressed. I mean, it was ok, but nothing special. We had a few problems, which were fixed, but the staff was kind of uncaring. Now this was several years ago, so who knows about the staff now. But, I would probably pick parkvue, since it is cheaper. It will be much cheaper, since you save the resort fee and parking fee on top of the price difference. Plus, it is a much shorter walk. Even if the price was equal, I would probably choose parkvue for the shorter walk alone. Either way, have fun!!

Are you going to be there during a MM. Also, DLR hotel guest can get into DCA early. Last year we rode Soaring and Mermaid twice before the scheduled opening of the park. Now is that worth another $80. Only you can be the judge.

We really enjoy the PPH, loves the views and the nice short walk to DCA and although as many have pointed out, some of the off site hotels are closer to Disneyland Park, it is certainly still close and if you cut through the GCH it typically took us 10-12m each way, with 10 and 8 year old boys.

In fact, we are staying there next week :)

For a difference of $80 I'd stay on-site and embrace the magic, particularly since at least one of the days you're there since you'll have 2 nights/3 days will have to be a Magic Morning day that starts with S or T.

If the price difference was larger that might tip towards staying at a motel ...
