:cool1: Booked Park Vue Inn for Jan 27 to Feb 7, 2013, mainly for the location. It will be my little niece's 6th birthday and first time to Disney. I am soooo excited.

Any reviews on Park Vue Inn?

We have stayed there twice, last August being the latest. Nothing special about the place other than it being super close. Place is dated just like about everything else on the street, but rooms are clean and quiet. All we need. We have requested the second floor in the past just in case, but haven't had any issues with noise.

They have free breakfast, you can make waffles, carb up for all the walking you will doing inside the parks. They also have evening snacks, but we were never around to check on those offerings. They have a small pool that is in the parking lot, looked pretty clean but we never used it.

We are staying there again Thanksgiving week. There are a lot of places that have nicer facilities and nicer rooms, but this place has everything we need, the distance to the entrance gates a deciding factor for us.

The Park Vue Inn is our go to hotel when we visit DLR (25-30 nights a year). The rooms are always clean and the beds are comfortable. This is the only hotel we have found on Harbor that the water pressure is strong enough to actually rinse the shampoo out of my hair, and the water temperature doesn't fluctuate every 15 seconds. We are not big morning eaters, but when we have gone to the breakfast, we have always found something to enjoy.

We stayed at HoJo the beginning of this month because my kids wanted to check out the pirate water play area. They were much too old to enjoy it, so we are booked at PVI for our Sept. trip, and won't be staying anywhere else anytime soon.

I have heard PVI has done away with the welcome basket, but you could check with the front desk and see if they are still doing the birthday basket, since you will be celebrating your nieces b-day. It was 2 helium balloons with some candy and Disney Princess things.

As with any hotel mentioned on these boards, you'll find some who love it and some who don't. I am one who loves it. Clean, comfortable beds, maid service before my afternoon break, plenty of parking, decent breakfast and great service (even a call every day to make sure all was well with our stay.) I'll be back. And oh....that walk back at the end of the night is unbeatable.:)

Just got back (yesterday!) from 3 nights there. They are in the middle of remodeling ... the good news is the rooms are no longer dated/worn (at least the ones near the front); the bad news is they no longer (as of July 1) do the evening "social hour." They do still have breakfast every day, and cookies, fruit, juice, and coffee in the lobby at all times. I don't know if they'll bring it back once remodeling is done.

Really, though, the point is the location. Which you can't beat--it's located at a crosswalk that leads to a path straight into the park. We loved it and would absolutely recommend it. We had a 1 queen/1 bunk room, which I don't think would be very comfortable for 4 people (very small) but it was fine for the 2 of us.

Check out this recent thread from some happy PVI guests:

I am planning on staying there if we go next year. I initially picked it because of the location, free breakfast, free light suppers, and water bottles in the lobby. The suppers and water have gone away as of this month, but I figure I'll stick with that plan due to location and free breakfast anyway. Sounds like remodeling is happening too, so that is a plus.

Are there any discounts for the PVI? I guess I am thinking of something similar to the 10% off HOJO with a Mousesavers or Disboards code.

Thank you!:goodvibes

Question for PVI repeat guests: We are planning our first vacation to DL for next July 2013. When will PVI release rates for next summer? Unable to pull up next summer rates on website.

It will be awhile, at least mid-fall or winter before they come up.

They do give returning customers 5% off of the room rates. At least that is what they gave us for our next stay there. I could not find better prices for PVI at any of the major online discount vendors.

Thanks! I also cannot tell if their online price quotes include tax. I didn't go as far as entering credit card info, just put in dates. Does anyone know?

Well, count me as a recent guest who will NOT be returning. Our room was clean, but smelled SO bad--the bathroom had an overwhelming sewage/mildew smell that no matter how much we tried, we could not get rid of. The room was very, very small too, especially in comparison with the Candy Cane Inn where we had stayed on previous visits. The extra blankets we got for the kids' beds were full of holes and in terrible condition.

Our check-in process was a horrendous fiasco that took over an hour for us and all of the people waiting in the lobby to check in. No apologies given.

It's a great location, but that's the only thing it has going for it in my opinion. And we are not pretentious or picky people.
