Planning our trip..two adults. Been reading reviews and both of these score high on the list.

This will be our first trip to CA and DL. So, watching the budget of course...your thoughts on these hotels, good, bad, etc.

Saw one picture in the internet for Park Vue Inn and the man had bed bug sores on his ankles and feet! :scared1: I know there are a few more perks at this hotel vs. Candy Cane (welcome basket, nicer b-fast and a free light meal for dinner every night, celebration cake for special events such as b-days, anniv. etc. and it looks like they are a tad less expensive too.) We are going the first week of Feb. so the pool isn't an issue. LOL

Whatever you can tell me to help me choose, would be greatly appreciated! :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone!

If the PVI is cheaper that would be lucky. If you can make use of the dinner you can eat light otherwise saving money that way. Walking right across the street to the park entrance is really nice.

If you think you are going to get bed bug bites at the Park Vue, why are you including that on your list? :confused3

We just got back from the Best Western Park Place Inn and really liked it. Nothing fancy, and the decor is definitely dated, but it was SUPER clean and very comfortable. Right across the main entrance. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

If you don't have a car, you can get a screaming deal. Just look/ask about the "no car" rate.

I think overall--most people like the Candy Cane Inn better. It is cleaner and more family friendly. Look up old threads here and for reviews on trip advisor.

This is exactly the question we have for our July trip. We have stayed at CCI 3 times and LOVE it. (you can see pics in my review in my sig). But have been wondering about PVI. It is a tad cheaper and a tad closer and has the evening snack. Our trip is 6 nights so I want to makes sure we have a good place to stay. Not sure if we should go with what we know and love or try something new at PVI.

As for bed bugs, I'm not worried about one person saying something. Any hotel can get them at any time because they are brought in by guests. What matters most is if they are on top of any reported problems and will they move you right away to a new room if there is a problem.

I've tried to find pics of PVI and found a few, but would love to see more if anyone has them.

I've seen that same "bed bug bite" picture on reviews for several hotels in the area, so I wouldn't take it too seriously.

I stayed at PVI last week and loved it. DH and I both decided they had the best service and most friendly employees of any hotel we have stayed at--ever! We were so tired at the end of the night, we could not have walked another step. (But I did see the Candy Cane shuttle many times and it seemed very reliable).

The breakfast was decent, we did the social hour once and it was okay as well. Always plenty of parking, although we never moved the car in 5 days. Comfy beds and plenty of fluffy towels. Just really had no complaints, I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
