I've read so many different mentions regarding these two properties, but nothing very specific. Can I get a few opinions on each location? Headed to DL in October and looking for a suite, but close so we don't have to use a shuttle.

I'm new to all this, but loving the feedback. Thanks in advance!

I just booked the PVI for the week of July 15th. First time at this hotel.
It's double what we were paying the last two years we have gone but I am banking on the free breakfast and supper to balance out the difference.
Plus I don't have to fork over 15.00 a day to park.

I stayed at PVI in the 2Queen suite last August for 2 nights, but have since switched to HoJos exclusively and stayed there in Sept (2Q), Nov (kids suite) and are returning next week, April and May in the kids suite.

The PVI suite was actually MORE than HoJos. I found it to be dirty, the towels thin, and the layout noisy. I also found the food to be inedible and the eating area crowded and dirty. The pool was also awful- in a parking lot with lots of noise and exposure. I also didn't like that they precharged my CC for 1 night, and I've heard awful things about them refunding this and so on. With HoJos I can easily book /cancel online or through inhouse reservations.

I don't want to be totally negative, but honestly, there was nothing positive I can point out about PVI. This is my 100% personal experience- others certainly love the location and food.

I stayed at both, many many years ago...so take that into consideration. From a location standpoint, definitely PVI...but I liked HoJo's room better..bar none.

A friend of ours went to PVI 2 years ago and said it was ok and would stay there again. If I had to pick a place with location AND amenities, I wouldn't take either and opt for the Best Western Park Place Inn. I know they are a little pricier, but their location is amazing, rooms clean and friendly staff...just my .02

I haven't stayed at HoJo's before. I have at Park Vue. I liked the breakfast - haven't been since they introduced the dinners, so can't say if they are good -but the breakfast was just fine. I love the location - wouldn't want to be as far down as HoJo's. And I like that PV has free parking. Not sure if HoJo's does or not.

I think provided you are in a room away from the freeway side, Hojos is a much quieter hotel. The beds are more comfortable and it is much cleaner. More of a "hotel" experience rather than a motel experience which you get at the PVI.

6 of us spent a week at PVI last summer-4 adults and 2 kids-in a minisuite with a sm kitchen. We saved a small fortune on food. Free hot breakfast, light eve meal...enough for dinner. We ordered in groceries and had deli type lunches, Lobby always had fresh fruit, cookies and bottled water. We stopped on our way into the park and on the way back to the room. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
We did not mind the pool, there was a wall around it with landscaping.
WiFi was BAD! If internet is important to you 24/7, you may be very frustrated!

I haven't stay at the PVI but have stayed at Hojo's several times - always a wonderful stay, and VERY clean hotel.

One thing I think worth noting is the fact that their pillow-top beds and pillows are *so* comfortable. For the extra 2 - 3 min. walk at most to Hojo's from the PVI, I think it would be more than worth it. (If we ever win the lottery, I swear we will purchase one of the Hojo's beds if they let us.)

Another great feature is their free in-room safe. Though one time, we left it wide open, with passports, money, netbook, psps, phones, and more in it. Nothing was touched. It was an accident, I thought I had locked it. Their housekeeping is the best!!

Another perk? Their Keurig coffee machines with cups/lids to take to the park. :lmao:

I've stayed at the PVI once...and Hojo's about 18 times now. I guess my preference is pretty obvious! Hojos has free parking, a great water play area for kids in addition to a regular pool, a great staff, clean rooms, and you can't beat the Annual Pass/Entertainment card discounts. Also a fridge & safe in the room and free wifi. PVI feels more like a motel with doors to the outside. It was very loud when people would walk by your room and the parking was cramped. The bathroom was nicely remodeled but the carpet was almost black from dirt and had holes in it.

If you stay at Hojo's I definitely recommend staying in building two- it is way quieter than building one (including the Disney View rooms, which are nice but you do get some freeway noise or lots of light from the uncovered windows on the top floor.)

PVI has put in new carpets. Hojo has put in new doors to reduce noise from the freeway.
