I want to make sure I have this correct? There are buses that go from one park to another? And to get to Hollywood Studios from Epcot you can also take a boat? And vice versa, from Hollywood Studios to Epcot you can take a boat? Any other "short cuts" ? And to get to DTD we will have to go to a resort first to get there? TIA! I just want to make sure I have all of this down before we go!

Sounds like you got it down pretty good.

To get to DTD from MK, you first must go to TTC to catch a bus. From the other parks, there is a direct bus to DTD.

Also, from MK, you can take ferries to CR, GF, Poly, and WL.

The Epcot/DHS ferry stops at Boardwalk, Yacht/Beach, and Swan/Dolphin.

The only DTD ferry comes from Port Orleans.

There are no busses from the TTC (or any other major park) to DTD.

I also thought you would only take the ferry to WL from MK. Poly, GF, and CR are on the monorail line.

There are also boats from SSR and OKW that go to DTD.

I wouldn't call the boat from Epcot to HS a short cut. It stops at at least three resorts before it gets there. But still might be quicker than a bus. Or you could walk. There is a walkway connecting Epcot and HS.

How long does that walk from Epcot to HS generally take?

You can walk it in about 25-30 minutes. Of course, it depends on how fast or slowly you walk. Unless a boat is loading you will always beat the boat. The boat can take anywhere from 25-35 minutes park to park. The hang up is usually at the Swan/Dolphin. There is only one dock there so sometimes there are a number of boats waiting to dock. All the other resort stops on the route (Yacht/Beach Clubs, and Boardwalk) have two docks.

Just wanted second the fact that this statement is no longer true.

They stopped the direct service when people started to park there for free and take a bus to the parks.

So anytime you wonder why the transportation routes to DTD are strange its because of this.

Yeah I had forgotten about that. Wasn't it around the time they closed PI? I figured that was the excuse for ending the DTD bus.

It was long before that. I can't say exactly when they stopped, but it was before I joined the disboards.
