It does kind of depend where I am staying as I always have a later flight, so I like to stay close since the park day will be short. That said, the last day or last full day is usually AK as it is my absolute favorite of the parks.

We always find an evening in the World Showcase to be a particularly fun and magical way to end a trip.

We always do AK the day before we leave. On Thanksgiving, we did AK in the afternoon/evening because our flight didn’t leave until noon. In May, we will probably do AK in the morning since we have an early flight the next day.

DS 25 always visits the MK on his last day, even if it is a crowd level 7 on most days of the trip and a crowd level 10 on the last day he does this (so likes to end the trip with the classic park). And we cater to DS when he is traveling with us to some extent. I specifically booked a Friday to Friday trip for the next one we are doing, so DS would have lower crowds on his last day for our next trip (Our last day will be a Thursday instead of the busier Friday, Saturday, and Sunday days). Weekends seem to be busier these days for some reason, from what I have read. In the past I don't think it made as much of a difference as so many were traveling on weekends (more locals??, more mini weekend trips??, who knows).

Oh and on this next trip (six full days next March): DS will be doing four theme park days (one day SeaWorld (Seven Seas Festival), one day Universal park to park, one day Epcot for Flower and Garden, and the last day at the MK). We've been to AK and HS recently, so have seen all the cool new stuff there already FYI. Just letting you know we only do the MK once and do it on the last day.

Honestly my last park is usually dependent on where I'm staying and what time my flight is. It will likely be the one closest to whatever resort I was staying at.

We have always been a first & last day at MK kind of family. Both are ful days, as we never have visited a park on our arrival or departure days. Usually nowhere near time to do so, as we have all too often found ourselves getting up at 3 am to be at the airport for required 2 (or 3) hours before a flight. Once upon a time, I did not mind that, but have honestly come to hate those early flights. We try not to book them anymore, but of course have no control over the last minute changes imposed by the airlines. Oh well, I can’t complain about much of anything when I am lucky enough to have a WDW vacation!

To us it depends on your flight time the next day.
Epcot has the latest closing time so that's not good if you have a 6am flight. But we really like AK and Epcot because they are really easy to relax at.
We are so tired at the end if the week.

I have always started & ended trips at MK. MK & AK are my 2 favorite parks. After reading some of these posts, AK would be a great way to end our stay.

Assuming you are only visiting each park once, I’m curious to which park people like experiencing at the end of their trip. I used to always think Magic Kingdom, but someone recently suggested Animal Kingdom as a relaxing way to end a trip.
Magic Kingdom with the last ride being Haunted Mansion. The ghosts will follow us home.

Usually, it's MK for us. This last trip it was Studios because we wanted another whack at getting a Rise boarding group. Needing park reservations really changed things for us this last trip.

Has to be Magic Kingdom. Final view of the castle. The music and magic of Main street. The atmosphere . Always brings a tear to my eye. I miss you Disney!!😢

Nowadays, it’s which park has availability.

Not the biggest fan of MK, so not chomping at the bit to see it; probably could be last day. I use it as an afternoon hop-to park, even in normal times.

When we had kids - right thru their teen years - I would've said MK but as adults I love Epcot. We stroll around the World Showcase, hit the Rose 'n Crown for adult sized beverage and laze at a table. Then we take another stroll around the world. Takes us about 4 hours. We went in March '21 and bought a 1-day ticket to enjoy Epcot. Roamed around and then left - never rode any rides.

We decided to do AK the morning we check out while waiting to go to the airport. Usually MK is our last park, but this time we are doing our days slightly different. The only day we will be doing AK this trip is our check out day. I love AK, but my husband and son do NOT.... So we are compromising. Finally after many years of hearing them complain about my open to close love of AK, I will save it for last, and only do a few favorites.

I prefer to visit MK last. I've done other parks on my last day in the past but it just didn't feel right. I like to say goodbye to the Castle on my last 1/2 day before I head home.

We've always ended at Epcot with Illuminations, since it's our favorite nighttime show and the sentiment of "We Go On" is such a perfect way to say goodbye until next time.

I have no idea how we'll end now. I don't hold out much hope that Harmonious will resonate the same way.

Samesies! In July my departure day will be MK because I'm staying at the Poly. But the last full day is AK.
