Park Ticket Buy Back?

I bought a 6 day basic park ticket for myself, ds14, dd12, & ds9. My line of thinking was that it would give us one full day in each park and then we could return to our 2 favs on the last 2 days. A friend of mine said that if the kids are worn out and dont want to return to any parks on the last 2 days, that are wholesellers in the area who will buy the unused portion from me at a lower rate, which would be better than just tossing them if that scenario happened. Does anyone know if this is correct info?

While that may be true, it is against the law to sell partially used theme park tickets in the State of Florida.

(Keep in mind also that tickets on day 5 and 6 only have a value of about $5 per day - it's not like you are losing much money.)

If it is part of a package just change to four day tickets. If you need more days, it is only $5.33 (including tax) per day per ticket to add additional days.

Your tickets do not have to be the same number of days as your stay.

Ack! I didn't know it was illegal. Won't be doing that then! Thanks for the info. I guess the person who told me that was unaware....

I've already purchased the tickets, and we're not staying in a WDW resort so it wasn't part of a package. I already got a really good deal on the tickets in the first place, so I'm not going to sweat it if the kids are too pooped to go back and just want to hang out or go to one of the waterparks or something.

I knew you guys here would know what my options were. Thanks so much!

Once you use the tickets, they will expire after 14 days - unless you purchased the non-expire option, which I doubt.

Additionally, your fingerprint is "tied" to the ticket upon first use. Someone with a different fingerprint (everyone else) would not be a match.

So, no, either use the ticket or it will expire after 14 days of first use.

You could also upgrade them before you leave, within 14 days of 1st use. Just buy the non-exp option and/or add more days on for a future trip if funds allow. The 1st 3 days are most expensive so it kills me to just buy enough days for 1 trip. We take a tax refund and buy 10 day hoppers with no-exp. It's a lot of $ up front, but they last for 3 trips or more if we add water park option, another $45 pp which adds 10 water park days, also non -exp. The price per day works out to around $25.

Regardless of the state law, Disney has declared that its admission tickets are not transferable once used.

It is a bad idea to buy tickets from roadside stands or from private persons including via eBay. There is no way to know if the tickets are brand new and good.

Turnstile fingerprints are digested (the computer term is hashed) into about 1000 categories. Only the category number is recorded for each ticket; the fingerprint cannot be reproduced later. When you go through the turnstile again, your fingerprint should produce the same category number to match what is on file for your ticket.

Reportedly a group of tickets purchased at one time are linked; which means that if a guest's fingerprint produces any of the category numbers for that group of tickets then the guest is admitted. However if someone uses a linked ticket for its second usage and the category number does not match, then the new category number does not become the initial category number for a different and unused ticket in the group, and that guest is denied admission.
