I was wondering if you'd all mind giving me your opinions on Fantasmic and Illuminations. I will be in Disneyland first in early may 2006 and am planning on seeing Fantasmic there. Am planning to Animal Kingdom in the morning on a Sunday in mid-late may and then MGM in the afternoon. My question is, since i will have seen Fantasmic in Disneyland should i skip it and go to Illuminations at Epcot since i will have a park hopper ticket anyway, or is fantasmic at MGM totally different than at Disneyland. Thanks for the help.

Fantasmic! at DL is very similar to the show at WDW.
(I like the DL version a bit better.)

So if you want to see IllumiNations, going to Epcot should be your choice.

I like both shows and always see both (and Wishes at MK) every trip.

Like everything else, it all comes down to YOUR preferences.
Nobody else can know your tastes.

Just posted this advice on another thread. Apparently it's possible to walk from Fantasmic via The Boardwalk and get to Illuminations in time - it takes about 25 minutes. We're planning on doing it in 2 weeks on our last evening.

It all depends on the time of year.

Both shows can start at about the same time in the Summer.

illuminations is our favorite! fantasmic is wonderful too! a disney trip is not completed unless you see both!!
