Has it happened to anyone that you had reservations at one park and decided to visit another instead?

All I could get reservations for tomorrow is Magic Kingdom and we want to visit Hollywood Studios (DHS).

So it looks like after checking into MK, it will take a little bit of time to get to DHS.

Have you tried to change the reservation? (I've never changed my reservations day before so I don't even know if it's allowed.) I am seeing all parks available for tomorrow (Friday 1/28).

If not, if you have a park hopper ticket, you can hop over to HS after 2pm.

This is one of the things that frustrates us about visiting the parks these days, less spontaneity. I'll make our family's park reservations months in advance, adjusting occasionally before the trip, but that's it. Changing the week of has been challenging for some parks. We park hop, so have resigned ourselves to knowing that we'll be at the reserved park for however long we want before heading over to the other. Honestly, we have done it where we check in and within 30 minutes have left. In no way is this ideal, but when you have to check into one before visiting another, you need to do it.

We just got back from a short 4-night stay at Disneyworld and I think having to have a park reservation to get in is stupid. What is the point of making us do that? Just another hoop to jump through in my opinion. And not being able to park hop until 2:00 is just another hoop. We didn’t bother purchasing the park hopper option because of that. As for making reservations then changing your mind there is an option on the app to change it.

My DD and I went to EPCOT last week to ride Ratatouille at 9:15AM. We were staying at BWV and I could have sworn we had a reservation for EPCOT. Turns out my reservation was for Hollywood that day. At the international gateway a CM was able to change my reservation right there and we proceeded to walk to the attraction. I had a brain fart for whatever reason, but the CM was very helpful and switched the reservation without an issue for us.

I used to like the Hopper so I could just leave if the park I chose ended up swarming more than expected, how this all now works sounds like it could be messy. Took me 3 years of attempted visits to finally do Animal Kingdom because of the crowds, the Hopper was a lifesaver back then. Hopefully people will share their experiences on how best to navigate.

I changed my mind but not last minute.
I looked at availability and saw the park I wanted was available so I cancelled my current park reservation and then rebooked it for the one I wanted. (BTW I too see ALL parks available tomorrow. I do know that some tickets have a different "bucket" of availability though so maybe your particular ticket type has no more availability?)

Just so you know you cannot park hop until 2pm and that's if you have park hopper.

Yes I have changed park days around. I'll second what others have said. I'm seeing availability for all 4 parks tomorrow. So there shouldn't be a problem switching to DHS. If you go to MK first, you can't enter DHS until 2pm and you must have a park hopper.
