Park Hours in summer

Are the hours posted for June going to change? I see a lot of comments about early, take break and head back in the evening. I am totally on boar with this and we will do this. My plan is to rope drop and head out around noon. Was thinking I didn't want to return until 6 or 7, but with the 7 pm close at AK, or others at 9, I am wondering if this is wise. Really wondering if time will be added or do I decide with what is posted currently?

Make sure you are looking at the right calendar.

The "official" WDW calendar is NOT a good choice.

How about this one...

I see a day at MK that is 9am-1am. Then 1am-3am is EMH. I can't use the EMH, but was thinking with it being open untill 1am that would be a better choice on that day as opposed to another day that closes at 11pm with no EMH. Am I wrong to go against the recs to stay away from this park due to the EMH and just take advantage of that extra long day?

Not to mention the fact that our next day will be an off day, so staying late won't be an issue for us.

Hours were extended just yesterday for MK and AK for most evenings in June.

Animal Kingdom closing was extended to 8 pm for most days that month. Magic Kingdom closing was pushed back to midnight or 1 am for several evenings as well.

Arriving to AK about 4 or 5 pm would be a good strategy. The place pretty much clears out during the late afternoon hours. Then you would still have several hours of prime time to hop to another park.

We nearly always park-hop... virtually every single day.

But YOU may not NEED to.
How do you know?
What should you do?

Simple:
You don't need to buy the "Hopper Option" UNLESS and UNTIL you need it.

If you are already at one park and decide that you'd like to "hop" to another... right then,
just walk up to a ticket window, add on the Hopper option (costs the same price if you buy it before or DURING your trip) and you're ready to hop (that day, and any others, for the rest of your trip.) You must make this and all other upgrade choices within the first 14 day of when the ticket was first used and no later than on the day that you use the ticket's last asset.

If you go and NEVER need to hop, don't buy the upgrade, and you can then spend all those "extra" bucks on more WDW souvenirs!

We always add the hopper feature for just this very reason. AK and Epcot close so early in the summer that we feel that we don't get in a full day of fun without hitting another park.

Plus, my kids would feel that they were being punished if they had to head back to the resort and knew that another park was still open.

I know I want to take breaks, but with AK closing at 8, I wonder about missing stuff if we are gone from say noon to 5.
