Park Hours for Oct and will any of the MK rides be closed?

We are planning a trip for the first week in Oct.This will be the first trip in Oct.that we have taken,we have been there in May,June,July and Nov.We liked Nov.the best and I know that the parks close early in the fall,so what are the hours for all of the parks?Also will any of the MK rides be closed during that time?I know that they close some of them during the slow season and work on them but I really hope the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain and Space Mountain are open,does anyone know about these rides?Since Oct has no E-Ride nites because of the MNSSHP wouldn't they keep the MK rides up and going because of the MNSSHP?Thanks

It has been reported that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closing for refurbishing but no one knows exactly when, sometime in August supposedly. Hoping if it does close, it's open by the end of September.

I hope Big Thunder is open in early Oct...I only rode it once last time because I always opted to sit out with the little guys. It's one of my favorites, but I understand that rides need periodic maintainence!

I would think that it would be open in time for MNSSHP in October.
That is one of the big rides for the halloween party.

Regarding October park hours, it's still a couple of months before Disney will announce them, as far as I know.

But you can get *projected* hours (based on last year's) by clicking here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours.htm and entering the dates of your trip.

Hi there DIS Veterans!! Help -

I used billybaruch1's link to the wdwinfo projected hours for our trip at the end of September, which shows MK projected to be open 9-8 most days. But when I went to another site to review historical hours (http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/hours.html) it showed MK open last September only 9-6 (except Sat). Which do you think it will be? Does anyone have a guess on which method is more reliable? OR do I have to sweat it out til the hours come out....

I was there last year, same time and the hours were 9-6 (except Sat.) and I would be willing to bet they are the same this year; at least that is what I'm doing my itinerary on so if by some chance they get extended it will be "extra" time that I'm not counting on.

Someone just mentioned on the Big Thunder thread that it will be closed from the 3rd week in August till right before Thanksgiving. I hope it is not true since this is one of our favorites and we will be there 8.23-8.31.

Unfortunately, I've read the same thing on several websites so I think this may be true and my DS will be extremely mad, we also will be there at the end of September.
