Park Hours Adjustment

I am going for a few days during election week as a completion of my AP year (not planning to renew). I noticed at the end of last week that MK was set to close at 11 the night that I arrive, which meant that I could shift a few things around with my shuttle and make to it MK in time to knock out either Tron or 7DMT that night. When I looked last night, it appears that they shifted closing time back to 10 which essentially makes my plan next to impossible. Has anyone else noticed changes like that (downgrading hours as opposed to upgrading them) two weeks out?

Park hours can change up until the actual date. You are correct that normally they extend hours bur occasionally they do reduce them. Keep an eye on them as they may change back but there is no guarantee.

One time it was either late the evening before or early that morning they changed the park to open like an hour earlier because they decided last minute they were having a private party in the evening and closing earlier. So when we got there, we didn’t understand why there were really long lines at the park already. I think it was Animal Kingdom for the flight of passage ride and it was because they had last minute open the park earlier and we were not even aware. It was so upsetting but nothing you can do about it except watch the hours for changes daily.

Yeah I saw that, too. A bit frustrating, for sure. Disney practically requires all planning to be done months in advance but likes to mess with the best laid plans at the last minute.

This is frustrating! We need to book our details for things soon and for some reason I can't even find park hours for January. And then they could change

The app is displaying hours up to Jan 5th. The website is always a few days behind that, so may not have got Jan hours yet.

Usually, for most of the year, Epcot has Extended Evening hours on Mondays and MK has them on Wednesdays. Party season is the exception.

I'm looking at it right now. MK closes at 10pm on the 5th.

MK extended hours have been on Wednesdays for a long time. However, they often don't do them at MK during party season. I would expect them to return in January, most likely.

Something to keep in mind is that during the winter, the parks do close earlier. They still go up and down and it could be 9pm or it could be midnight. But there are definitely more 9pm nights at Magic Kingdom during the winter than there are in July.

We were talking about January, when there is an Extended Evening hours on Monday January 6 at Epcot.

MK is scheduled to close at 9:00 on January 5.
