Park Hopping??

We are going to Disneyland for the 1st time in October 2009 for 8 nights - YIPPEEE!!

We have purchased 5 day hopper passes, but have never had these before, we are a bit unsure what is classed as a "day" is it park opening hours or 24 hours??? For example if we go out sightseeing one day and come back to hotel and want to go over to one of the parks for an hour, will that count as a day used?

When we usually go to DisneyWorld we have 21 day ultimate ticket where you have UNLIMITED access to ALL the parks, we usually hop between parks there and never have to worry about running out of admissions!!!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

When they scan your tickets it counts for 1 day open to close of that day between both parks.

You have 13 days to use you park hoppers first day is when they scan your tickets and 12 days after that to use the 4 days remaining

Once you go into one park then one day is knocked off your total. You can then go hopping from DL to DCA and vice versa for as long as you want till park closes.

You can leave the park and go back to your hotel for a little break if needed, then head back all on the same day right? Hope I am reading that correctly!

We plan to hit the park early in the morning and take a break mid afternoon for some swimming, naps, etc in the afternoon before heading back for the evening.

Yes, you can leave for your hotel during the day. When you come back it is still considered the same days admission. No matter what park you choose to leave or re-enter. But even if you're only in the park for 5 minutes the entire day, it does count as a full days admission.

A day is considered from open to close (we'll call it Disneyland hours b/c they generally open earlier and close later than DCA).

As you leave a park just get your hand stamped, and when you come back and want to enter either park, just show your ticket again (they might check your hand stamp), and go on in!

Need to sit and work out how many days/nights we will do in the parks. There are obviously a MILLION things we want to see while there, hollywood, malibu, burbank,shopping malls!! YEEEEEEEE! I am sooo excited!!

We're going in October, too. We'll be there 6 full days but a few hours on two more days and thought it was totally worth it! (we called to order our tickets for later).
