Park Hopping without a hopper ticket

Okay - while looking at ticket prices I noticed that a 7-day non-hopping ticket is cheaper than a 5-day hopping ticket so I wondered if I could use 2 days from a non-hopping ticket on the same day. That would still give me 2 hopping days which I think would be enough if I scheduled my days wisely and according to park hours. Does anyone know if this is allowed? It probably isn't but you never know until you ask!!

Yes, you can.

You cannot go back into the first park once you've entered the second, but you can do both parks in one day.

I didn't know this. I want to make sure I understand this correctly. If I'm going for 7 days, I can buy a 10 non-hopper and use my 3 extra days on the same 7 days.

Yes.

Once you enter the second park, you've "started" up another day and ended the last one.

At least, that's how it worked the last time I did this at DisneyWorld a few years ago, and when I did it at DisneyLand in December (bought a 2 day, 2 park pass, used both in the same day - did California Adventure first, then spent the rest of the day in DL.)

If you buy extra days and want to use your one ticket to do this you can't.

No you cannot do this with the new MYW passes. They are good for only ONE park per day, and cannot be used at a second park. If you tried to use it at a second park on the same day it would be rejected, even if you had days left on the ticket.

We called a CM with this very question last week and he confirmed that this was possible. Although you know how one CM tells you one thing and another tells you another thing. Anyway if you only want to hop once or twice on your trip this is definetely a cheaper option.

I have been reading these boards a lot and with the new MYW tickets you can only go to one park a day if you don't buy the park hoppers. The computer knows what park you were at in the morning and will not allow you to go back to another one later on. Park hopping is only $30! No big deal if you really think about it when it saves you crazy hassels!

I sit corrected. I did not use the MYW park pass when I did this (they weren't out yet), just a normal one.

The new MYW tickets are not the same as the old tickets. If you look at the cost per day, it drops to only a few bucks a day on the 10 day tickets. Disney would loose their shirt if they allowed this. If you want to hop, pay the few extra bucks, and don't be disappointed, because it won't work with a non hopper ticket!

I'm an AP holder, myself. Just not for DL. And not years ago for DW.

Even with MYW I still can't rationalize not getting an AP (I got to the F&W fest every year - just go 11 and 13 months apart, respectively).

I can confirm reliable info on this question: you cannot enter two parks/day on the new non-hopping MYW tickets whether you use two days worth of tickets or not. You can ONLY do one park/day unless you buy the hopper option.

Thanks for the responses. I figured this was a no-no! But $30 times 4 is $120 and that's our food budget for one day. No big deal though, I don't think I could do a trip without hopping, just thought I would check!

The above info is correct - trust me, it's my job. :)

Hey I'd like to add a question....

If you bought the 7 day w/ pluses could you use one park admission and one plus in the same day? You wouldn't need park hopping for that would you? Although honestly I'll pay the $30 bucks just cause I'm not sure what I want to do yet. LOL

It is my understanding that the park hopping feature can be added once you get to the parks. We're going to buy the non-hopper passes. If we find that we really must hop, we'll stop at guest services and pay to add that feature to our passes. If we don't find the need to hop, we'll have saved $30 x 4 = $120.

Magic Kingdom in the morning, Blizzard Beach in the afternoon, Pleasure Island at night -- Consumes one day and two plusses, does not need the hopping option.

Blizzard Beach in the morning, leave with handstamp for lunch, come back, no other parks visited -- Consumes zero days and one plus.

Yes, you can. They are 5 separate admissions (to water parks, quest, PI, etc) that you can use any way you wish, on any day. I have no idea if those 5 pluses are good beyond the 14 days if you buy the non-expiry option.
