Park hopping with FP+?

I know that the 3 FP+ I reserve have to be in the same park. What I'm curious about is whether it's better to get to a park at rd and ride stand-by before the crowds arrive and save our FP+ for the park we visit that afternoon/evening or use our FP+ in the first park and get our 4th, 5th, etc FP+ in the second park? We'll be there in mid-Oct with crowd levels at 5-7. I know it probably depends on which parks we're visiting, but what's the general feeling about this?
