Park Hoppers spread over two separate reservations question

Hey there.

Quick question. I have a BounceBack offer starting on August 20th. 8 days, free dining etc. Because the flights out of Boston on the 19th were around $600 less than on the 20th I booked a room only reservation for the 19th, since the BounceBack offer starts on the 20th. I called Disney Reservations to add a 9th day onto my tickets and asked repeatedly if I could use the 9th day on my room only reservation on the 19th. 3 separate people told me I could (I called a few times to be safe) as long as everything was linked on my My Disney Experience login. I'm a bit worried that I am not getting correct information on this since I have heard differently in the past. My Park Hoppers are on my package that starts on the 20th so how could I activate them on the 19th? It was only an additional $42 for the four of us to add the 9th day but I don't want to show up and have them tell me I can't hit the parks until the next day.

Does anyone have any experience with this and if so could you clue me in on if what I was told was correct or not.

Thanks as always for the help my friends!!!

Jay

WDW has a long-standing policy of early package ticket pickup. You can pick up your package tickets up to 3 days before check-in for your package stay. If your room-only is at the same resort, it's "possible" that the resort concierge personnel could handle this. But most resort workers aren't ticket experts and don't have helpful ticketing operations computers like workers at the Theme Park ticket booths and Park Guest Relations. So it's generally advised for you to go to Guest Relations outside one of the 4 theme parks (or DTD) and request early ticket pickup. Have your package reservation handy and photo ID. Park GR should open between 1 hr and 1/2 hr before park operning. The only thing not available to you would be advance FP+ for that early room-only day, as you "technically" don't have tickets until your package begins -- and you can't book FP+ in advance without tickets. But FP+ for same day is doable.

Thanks for your info, I really appreciate it! We are staying at the Beach Club so it would be super easy for me to walk over to the Epcot International Gateway ticket booth when we arrive at the resort while the rest of the family checks in (or they can join me if need be) and activate them. Also, we are staying Club Level so perhaps they can assist us, though I may just head right over to Epcot per your advice.

Thanks again for the great advice!!

CL may help, but it depends to the experience of the particular CM you encounter -- and who may not have a clue about advance ticketing policies. Give it a try, then (if necessary) head for the Epcot Int'l Gateway Guest Relations. I think the ticket booth is separate from Guest Relations. GR would be my first choice. Quick walk from BC. Hope your family has a great time at WDW!

We did this a couple of years ago when we added a couple of days to the front end of a vacation. For what it's worth, the first cast member (or maybe 2, I don't recall specifically) at GR in front of MK didn't know how to set it up, but they were ultimately able to find someone who could . . . . So don't give up or let them talk you into buying more tickets!
