Park Hopper

Family of 4 probably staying for 4 days so I’m thinking it may be worth it. We might not last all day at some parks and want to bounce back to MK.
I would base my advice off of a couple questions:
Is this your first time to visit? Where are you staying?
Transportation is a big factor in hopping.

So much good information! Thank you. I will have a 10 y/o and 16 y/o. I don't know that they will want to do a whole day at Epcot, and honestly, at AK either. And the idea of hopping to another park is ideal especial if one closes early.
SOOO, is it really crazy, time-consuming to hop? Is there an ideal way to do it so you're not on a bus forever? Like, go to your home resort 1st for lunch, then another park?
I'm hoping to stay at Poly, WL or BLT. April/May 2027

Not too bad if you coordinate it with the available transportation options.
I wouldn't waste the time going back to "home resort" just to eat, we prefer to eat/snack on the fly.
BLT, Poly are on the monorail loop. WL is basically bus dependent.
A hopper would allow you to use monorail to Epcot then accessing skyliner to HS.
I think you would benefit from having the PH.

No. Not really.

But it can be tiring when you’re taking the bus, especially when it’s hot out. Walking to the front of the park, then to your bus. Waiting for the bus. The ride. Getting dropped off. Hiking to the main entrance of the next park….it can drain you.

Since you’re staying at a MK resort, hopping between Epcot and the MK is great. And we often hop back and forth between Epcot and HS.

AK, you’ll need to bus it.

No. Only go back to your resort if you want to swim or relax in your room. Otherwise, just eat on the go, or you might be like us and relax too much and never make it back into another park. Lol.

Before I had park hopper ability, I would have said that it's not worth it. I'm at an age where I don't go park open to close anymore. But now that I have one (Great offer on DVC Annual Pass), I love it. Went to MK one morning, came back to my Epcot resort to rest and read, then planned to go in to Epcot for dinner and touring. Half way through dinner, I decided I really wanted to ride Toy Story Mania, so after supper off I went to DHS. Three parks in one day? I'd never thought I'd want to do it, but I love the flexibility to be able to.

As others have said, honestly, no. Disney Transportation generally works pretty well, though sometimes you might hit a rough patch if something goes down. Waiting for the bus is the tough part, especially if you just miss one (and you don't really know when it was last by). It can feel like it takes forever, but it's pretty fast. Routes where you use the Skyliner or Monorail are ideal. In case you don't know, I'll lay out the Hopping options below:

MK <> EP - Monorail (transfer at Transportation and Ticket Center, to/from front entrance of Epcot)
MK <> HS - Bus
MK <> AK - Bus
EP <> HS - Skyliner (transfer at Caribbean Beach), Friendship (to/from the back entrance of Epcot), also a walking path
EP <> AK - Bus (to/from front entrance of Epcot)
HS <> AK - Bus

The Skyliner is super fast and the easiest way to get between two parks. MK <> EP and EP <> HS are the easiest hops to make. AK is a bit further away, so it's all busses to and from it. I usually pair AK with MK and EP with HS. Then again, I have been known to start at HS, take the Skyliner to EP, move from back to front hitting any attractions that I want to, then riding the Monorail to MK to close out the night - it's pretty fun!
