Park Hopper Question

Right now I'm booked with a park hopper. I'm looking over our dates and trying to map out our plan, and I'm not sure they are really going to get much use.

We are staying at the Yacht Club so my thought had been we might hop in and out of Epcot randomly. But I just don't know for sure if that will happen.

I'm thinking it would be more logical to take the park hopper off and then just purchase it as an add-on once where there, if it appears we will use it. Is that something Disney allows? Like if we are at MK in the morning and decide that night to go to Epcot, can I add park hopper on at the gate?

Yes you can! Same price no matter when you add it, though, so don't expect it to be less if you're on your last day and decide to hop.
