Hi! I am re-posting something I put on the theme parks board so if it doesnt fit here I wont be mad if you move me mods!
Anyhoo-here is my question:
We are trying to decide whether to do our next trip for 10 or 12 days. We love to buy through UT but they do not offer a 12 day park hopper ticket. What is the smartest/best way to add on the extra two days if we were to do so? I'm looking for numbers so we can straight up compare the cost of Park Hoppers for 10 days vs. 12. Also, the tickets will all be for adults- thank you to all for any help!!

I am re-posting here in case there are different considerations since we will be booking on DVC points.

Disney does not sell Theme Park tickets in the US with more than 10 days on them. If you are going to do that many days in the Theme Parks with in 1 year, you would probably be better off getting Annual Passes.

thank you! Can you help me think of what I might be remembering (whether correctly remembering or not! :rotfl2:) of reading somewhere about buying say a 10 day PH and then adding days on for a fee at the desk once you are there? Am i making that up or can you only do that up to 10 days?

You can buy a pass from UT and upgrade it to an AP at Guest Services at the park.

Can't be done. You can only ever have a max of 10 days on a ticket meant for the US market.

You can take days off from the parks (resort days), you can go to the waterparks, you can go to Universal Studios or Legoland or Seaworld or just spend the day buying kitschy souvenirs from some of the fabulously cheesy-looking souvenir places on I-drive....

Or buy the AP and plan another vacation that falls within the year from the start of your vacation to really make the money worth it!

You can only go up to 10 days total.

A DVC AP is $419 plus tax ($446.24).

You have to be a member to buy the DVC discounted AP.
Other ways to get additional park days:
MVMCP and MNNSHP let you in MK from 4pm-midnight (not a hopper but a decent park day and extra fun ;) )
Check out the mousesavers mention of a donation to the Florida Children's hospital (to get additional 1 day MYW tickets
Add on a Disney YES individual enrollment package.

I do think water park days would be cheapest, though.
