Park hopper pass

Like many people on the thread, the answer depends on when you are going, and who is going with you.

I have found that we are more opt to change parks when the parks are very full and when there is afternoon rain. I do not like staying in AK when it is raining, or very hot. I will stay in MK in the heat or rain, but have left that park when we have found it to be very crowded.

Funny, I found that we park hopped more frequently when the kids were little. :confused3 We would go out in the morning to one park, take a nap, and then go out in the evening to Magic Kingdom or Epcot. They are always happy with the attractions in Fantasy Land.

Now that the kids are older, we tend to stay in a park until we are done unless it is raining or too crowded. :woohoo:

I have a trip planned for next month, and we do not have the PH option on the tickets but will be upgrading them to FL Res Seasonal Passes which allows us to hop. However, we too are not upgrading until we get there.

We always get PH, but as others have said, the age of your children would have to factor into it. Park Hoppers give you the freedom to change your mind about staying in a park if it's crowded or if you want to eat at another park than the one you are touring. We love to eat at Epcot, so for us, hoppers are very necessary! Good luck with your decision.

I never get as we like to spend the full day at the same park. I find to waste less time that way. We usually plan a meal at that park and then another at a resort near by. I prefer to spend that money somewhere else

I agree.

It all depends (helpful answer, huh?). If you have the extra money to spend and like to have the freedom to go from park to park, I'd recommend them. We always get hoppers because we go during the Food and Wine Festival. We start out at a different park (like MK) each morning, then end most of our days at Epcot to enjoy the evening at the F&W Festival.

But last trip, I also went during F&W, got hoppers (because they were only a $25 add-on to my military ticket), and only hopped twice in 9 days! I was surprised how seldom I felt I "needed" to hop. There's something to be said for not having to spend the time traveling from park to park. If you plan your days well, no need to hop.

My recommendation is to go without the hopper option to start with - you can always add it after you arrive! You might save yourself some money if you decide you don't need to hop.

We bought Park Hopper for our trip last year and never used them, so this trip I am not wasting the money on Park Hoppers. Also, we plan to spend some time at Universal Studios so we needed the extra $ for Universal.

I think you should go with it. It's really nice to have if you want to go to one park during the day and then another in the evening for magic hours or fireworks. Alway good to have. :)

Have a magical time.

We have visited WDW 6 different trips and have never purchased HP because you really don't need them especially when it is your 1st trip---you will be very surprised with how much there is to do at one park---and if you get tired go back to your resort and swim, relax and then you can head back to the same park in the evening. you will not get to do everything in a park in one day it could take 2 to 3 days per park to do all the basics, you will see.

On our next trip is the 1st time I'm thinking about getting HP because we have now done most everything at each park and can make the passes work for us but up until now we didn't find them to be worth the extra cost.
