I think it is easier to just have one card to. We did have ours demagnetize once, we were able to get into the park, but they told us to have it looked into when we got back to our resort. When we went back at the end of the day, they CM told us that since we had stored our key/ticket in a pocket with our cell phone that is why it demagnetized. So just as a heads up, don't put your cell phone and ticket in the same area.
They tell everybody that cell phone story. But I think it's a bunch of hooey.
Plenty of people who have never put their KTTW cards anywhere near a cell phone or other electrical device have had their cards demagnetize. There are many threads on the subject, discussing it at length.
My personal opinion is that it's not the cell phones, radios, cameras, hearing aids, or watches that are most at fault - it's static electricity.
Static is everywhere, and it get generated most often through friction. Putting your KTTW card in your pocket, whether there's a phone in there or not, makes it more likely to be affected by static discharge as you walk. And those magnetic strips are sensitive enough to be affected by static that's too mild for a person to even notice, making it possible to pull out your KTTW card after a stroll from the monorail to the gates and have it fail to work.
The best advice I can give anybody is to get a plastic neck lanyard. In all my trips to WDW over the last 6 years, I have kept my KTTW cards, park passes, hotel keys from off-site hotels, and all sorts of other magnetic cards in my neck lanyard, and have only had one demagnetize (an off-site hotel key).
